I wanna see all you EFIsetups on clevos. The only one I know of is Steve. I love the XFI2.0 gear, but an EFI manifold is a bit elusive. CHI have a 3V but I want a 2V
-
I'm thinking I'll be using the AFD manifold. . I've pushed mine to next year
-
Although, even if it's done for real. a 3" stroke will make it 248ci ...and fuck my dog would that thing rev
-
Or do you mean for xfalcons?
-
I dont understand. I have one
-
Is that an ACT rule or Australian Billy? I read the story in Street Machine of the VC that was twin turbo and he had to get a 5.5L
-
Nah, they did run the 5.8 mod parallel with the Coyote, at Ford. The 5.8 Coyotes aren't Ford, I'm pretty sure. The Mod and Coyote share a lot of dimensions but that's about it. . I still dont understand why the Australian Coyotes only use one cam phaser (on each head). I get it that with a pump on it, it doesn't need two, but it could use two as much as an N/A engine.
-
yeah that is a Mod engine, not the coyote. The fast way to tell is the coyote has cam phaser plugs on the front of the covers
-
Coyote is the way of the future. JPC are making 351 Coyotes. Soon as ford do this they'll be the next hot ticket. bolt-in 600hp completely streetable. Even more streetable with a pump. Mine makes 525rwhp and my wife can still drive it in heels. It idles at 400rpm, it revs to 6200, and can get less than 10L on the freeway in a fat as fuck car. . When you consider that probably half of the Mustangs are gonna be V8s in Australia (I expect), they'll start flooding the market as the cars get crashed. If I had my engine in an XE, it would be a VERY low 10 and completely streetable. Building a 10 second clevo or Windsor from sctratch would cost between 10 and 15K anyway.

I liked this, Steve. It just doesnt get enough credit when people ask before giving info to younger ones.

I now see why I look stupid I should have added the link. It was stupid of me, my bad
-
I cant help but think that I'm appearing stupid here. Yeah, a Coyote is different to a Cleveland, but in response to being on a track, measuring and controlling oil temperature, please explain to me why they shouldnt be both looked at in the same regard. If you'd like to take the details further, it is of more importance on the Coyote than a Cleveland because of the oil cooled pistons the Coyote has. I understand the necessity to keep oil temps safe. I'm not against measuring the oil temp. Can you tell me a good reason why you shouldnt run a thermostat for your oil cooler?
-
I get that. Thats why I suggest a thermostat. Simply watching it isnt much good, I reckon. My FG has oil temp and yeah I can check it, but if it did get hot, all I could do is stop. That makes for shit laps
-
You've gotta work out why you give a fuck about your oil temp. Get one of these, fit it to your oil system, put your temp sensor AFTER this. Check that this works and maintains the temperature. If all that works, move the temp sensor to BEFORE the thermostat so you know when your oil is up to temp and just how hot it is getting. . I sort of dont understand why you want to measure something that you dont intend on controlling. It'd be like counting how many cows are getting out of the paddock. Dont bother checking unless you are gonna keep the cunts under control.

XG? So ute? Wouldn't you want to know the station wagon deets? -
Where is Millgrove? I'm in southern Vic, got the stuff if you want
-
Can you find a dual quad clevo manifold? He might not want a tunnelram swinging in the breeze
-
I'm looking at using the XFI2.0 setup. I like the way FAST have theirs set up

Pretty happy with TCP -
Cheers. I forgot all about AFD. That looks the goods. . Threaded sounds much easier
-
Looks like it would be simple enough to chuck it in the mill and drill holes for bungs in the manifold and weld them in. I dunno how to set the height. Do I machine in a step or just set them when I they get welded in? Do I weld on bosses to mount the rail?
-
I dunno mate. They wrappen in gladwrap in my shed somewhere. I'll be moving sheds in the next month or so if you can wait. Are you just going to get a sign writer to print them for ya?
-
I'd say get one of these and stick a big fuckoff cooler in there. It wont run cold and it should be big enough to not run hot. http://www.northernautoparts.com/ProductDetail.cfm?ProductId=3164
