  1. Mark could you do me a favour?

Could you possibly measure (as accurately as possible) the length of the forward arm going from the diff forward to where the drop links are. Also, if you have them, can you please take a photo of the brackets that go onto the chassis. If i can get those measurements i can measure on my car where it comes to

  2. Ok guys,

So im looking at a rear swaybar that is listed for sale to suit an XD sedan (leaf spring obviously).

First of all, would this suit my XF wagon? It is an aftermarket sway bar so has the brackets to go around the outaide of the diff, and has the drop link for up the front of the sway bar.

Secondly, does anybody have pics of a rear sway bar fitted to a leaf sprung x series so i have something to reference to?

    cheers

  3. havent ever seen one in australia but you see them heaps in the usa so have a look over there

i personally use a 25 dollar ebay special bluetooth obd2 reader and the torque app, love it

i think youll find everycar has them after like 2002 or something, not 1996 either

yeah thats what i have at the moment, just my iPhone and a wifi one.

i don't know what year the OBD2s came out. I read somewhere last night hunting about they came out in 1996, another one said 1998. possibly different for different countries.

  4. Hi guys,

So in my daily driver, a 2003 Mazda 6 Luxury Sport, Ive been toying with on board ECU monitoring using the OBD2 port (which every car built post 1996 has). Ive been using a great little wifi dongle that goes into the OBD2 port, and spits out a WIFI signal that I pick up on my iPhone in an app. it works really well, however now that I'm convinced how handy it is, I'm looking for something a little more permanent, with a half decent LCD screen, that i can essentially mount semi-permantly in the car which can just stay there, rather than running the battery down on my phone every time i run the app.

    What are people's recommendations?

I don't want to spend huge dollars (i know some of them go for over $2500)

  5. well i found a mob in Springvale, AZNew Injectors. they had brand new ones listed for the XF, but they don't do them anymore, and have sold off all their stock :( but their biggest market is remanufactured injectors. they don't deal with the public (which is shit) and told me to go to Bursons to get them. he admitted on the phone that Bursons have the best price on them, after mark up, while he is sitting there telling me they don't deal directly with the public :( bastards! but thats the way of the world i guess lol.

  6. Hi guys,

has anyone replaced the injectors in their EFi crossflows with brand new OEM injectors? there is a company on ebay that sell OEM injectors for EFi crossflows (link below)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/FORD-XF-ZL-FAIRLANE-FUEL-INJECTORS-BRAND-NEW-DIRECT-FIT-6CYL-BRAND-NEW-/261523576654?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ce405174e&_uhb=1

apart from putting brand new OEM injectors in the car, are their alternatives to the OEM injectors, that won't fek with my ECU? its not really for performance, I'm just replacing them to get the fuel system back up to scratch.

    Cheers

  7. Pretty sure my Ghia just had it disconnected, would have to ask Nova to be sure. But it still had switches to change from petrol to LPG, was a great immobilizer/killswitch.

Yeah see thats what has me worried chris. When i flick the fuel switch to gas, the fuel pump continues to run, but all it does it switch the injectors off (they tick when they are running, so i hear them shut off) but the fuel pressure is kept up. So i need to find the wiring to the injectors, and fix it up there, not so much about keep the fuel pump running.

  8. Hi guys,

Im about to remove the LPG from my injected XF, and take it back to petrol. Obviously when the lpg was installed it had the wiring modified for the fuel system, so both the petrol side of it and gas side of run through the 1 single relay.

When i remove the LPG, what wiring will i need to do, to assure that once ive removed the LPG switch and solenoid, the car will still run on petrol?

  9. Chris, your in Casey? As in City of Casey? Im in Berwick, and i can highly recommend Berwick Exhaust Centre. Its in Enterprise Ave in Berwick. He custom made the system on my XF from extractors back, and it sounds great. All custom made, cost me about $400, in and out in 1 day.

  10. Guys im looking for a good, trustworthy panel shop/restoration place to replace the floor in my escort. Must be in melbourne, preferabley western side of melbourne, as thats where the car is located. It will be trailered anyway, but just easier if its not too far.

Any tips on places would be great. The floor is the major thing in the project, and until i get it fixed, i can only do minor stuff, and cant touch the interior.
