That thing hammer's

Yeah it was just an idea for my drag motor,i see many v8's with sheetmetal manifolds in drag racing,i also thought about the 6 carby set up ,and make it all stick high up out of the bonnet,as it wont be run on the street.
-
is that the twin carb adaptor that could bolt to their supercharger manifold ?
-
I had this idea while we are talking about webber's,making a custom alloy sheet-metal manifold to accept 3x 2 barrel's or 2 x 500 holley's,or cutting the efi banana manifold and welding 3 x 2 barrel adaptor's,feeding 2 cyl's each ?
-
what about making a sheet-metal manifold to run 3 x 350's, feeding 2 cyl's per carb ,or 2 x 500's feeding 3 cyl's each.

With the large open 4 barrel aussie speed manifold has anyone tryed the plenum pig ! i assume it gives a bit better low down power and without it big power over 6000rpm
-
What about 6 nice fuel inj trumpets on a Webber crossy manifold, anyone tried that ?
-
What sort of cfm are these webbers ? 200?each
-
Big H racing made some solid numbers with a Aussiespeed 4 barrel manifold on the engine dyno and that car ran solid numbers at the track. Jason Murphy in Toowoomba has just made 270rwhp with the same 4 barrel manifold. I made 260 odd with a head that only flowed 196cfm with the exact same manifold. All that is nothing to be sneezed at.
Having said that - THERE IS NOT SUBSTITUTE FOR AN INDIVIDUAL RUNNER setup. Pure and simple.Sly has highlighted it clearly in the above example.
Here is my experience. THOR (my roller cam head) was ported to suit a non-individual runner style manifold. It flowed very very well (over 235cfm) in that form. Cam just 're-ported' it to suit the weber manifold and we picked up 10cfm. That is a huge gain. Mind you I am chasing some serious numbers with this engine, so I am prepared to spend the serious dollars it takes to achieve them.
Would I go individual runner for a tough streeter/ sometimes drag car. Nope.

yeah thats why i was asking

By today's standard's ,would the triple's have any advantage over the large 4 barrel manifold and carby set up,or is it more for show,i no a lot of car's had triple's back in the day,charger,torana,ect....

looks mean

That mark on the piston is from putting the ring on incorrect,it was put on by hand and slid around the rim and the sharp end has cut the top of the piston as it goes over the piston then into its grove,i have seen this so many times on engines.
-
i found 2 today,i will do more research on them for the crossy
-
yeah early c4's had 24-24 then 24-26 1970 model had its own blah blah ,i have the choice of many down at the shop so i might go for what ever box fits the bellhousing i am getting, even the 1966 67 68 69 box is better than the borgy im sure.
-
I just went to the transmission shop,i can get a choice of many c4's for around $250 a core, but no bellhousing, the owner himself has a 6cyl mustang there himself so he say's the later c4 or c10 will need a custom bellhousing to fit,the early c4's have a different bellhousing for 200 c.i. i6's,but he said he can put later c10 guts into a early case and swap it all.just depends on what bellhousing you can get your hands on.
-
what is wrong with the early c4's pre 1970 ? everybody says get the later model, but what about just for a 6cyl surley they are better than the bw.
-
I have just been looking again on the aussie speed site and there is a 192 c.i, blower shop unit now available ,looks like a 4/71 but would go really nice on an crossy, billet alloy, and they have the snout's to fit.
-
When i take my car for a spin every afternoon i go thru the mountains and then wind it up on the straight,i cant fault it see's 4000rpm plus ,but holding it flat doing a big burnout i dont think it will last long, but for general mildly worked engine it's fine.
-
ok what about the bw40 or ea 3 speed box are they any tougher ?
-
where did you buy all the pulleys and kit from or did you make them ? i no aussie speed does one, also did this car have p/steer or air ?
-
is that the car on you tube ?
-
I am wondering why these gearboxes dont have good reputation ,i have never blown one up,and from what i have been told they can be beefed up a bit, there isnt a lot of 6cyl c4's around for sale, and wondering can the converter be tuned to have a higher stall ?
-
yeah i figure the xe is a fair bit lighter with the crossy than the clevo ,and after i gut it even more it should weigh heaps less.350hp would push the car hard with gears probly 3.9's with what i have read here on ozfalc
