yes dean seems to know how to do it,or could you just cut one out of a xe and weld it in.
-
Thom tell's me that xb bell was only made in a 6 month window,so good luck finding one, could be just as easy to get a top loader one and drill it for single rail then can use either box.
-
if you ask people in the speedway scene there is always a ol.m8 who will do em,8 1/2 wide would be hardcore
-
rain has set in here,so back to the garage, just got new dizzy parts to fit to the xf dizzy, gunna get the housing cleaned then reasemble with new parts, going to hook the wiring straight to the dizzy via est plug then to msd and coil,i got rid of the tfi module.

i reckon this style of wheel are shit hot and really suit xd-f as it looks really like the grand prix wheels and the BBS group c style rims used on greens tuff xe ,i guess they just copied them and made it in a smaller street version,i wonder did they ever make a 15x8 size ? i might e mail them and ask,i also have this idea of widening the rears as i can get my hands on another set to chop and weld like the snowflakes to 8-1/2 wide.

i have decided to get these wheels reconditioned and new caps as the old ones have seen better days, only $15 each per cap.

CHESTNUTXE replied to CHESTNUTXE's topic in Transmission and Differential
yep i figerd the 009 was the go for the new worked crossy as ford offerd this box in the efi xe 250,and possibly 84-85 xf's,i still have the 008 here which is the 351 box,i sold it to a guy 1 month ago and he paid me and i have never heard from him againi have another 009 box here i have no idea how good it is,but i was gunna keep it as a parts box ,its complete78 da box was a 302c xc box or 250 as the 009 was std fittment behind 4.1 xd and xc,except for 200.c.i. -
also the pump, and lines.it looks like it will bolt straight onto the xg p/s box.
-
Today i cleaned up the engine mounts and power steering bracket and gave them a coat of paint.

CHESTNUTXE replied to CHESTNUTXE's topic in Transmission and Differential
The 009 box seems to be the most popular for mild v8 and worked 6 engines,im getting one rebuilt atm with new bearing kit ,and 4 new syncros ,also fitted new alloy lock down nut,new shifter saddle, shifter ball, cant wait to put it behind the worked crossy,if i dont like it i will try the t5 out of xg with 3.25 first. -
i like the 192 or 250 blowershop supercharger ,would look insane sticking halfway out the bonnett.

After building quite a few cleveland's im gunna have a go at a crossy,i have a xe carby motor here that came with my xe i recently bought,im going to keep the matching numbers block with the car and use another crossy block and transfer some parts over eg head ,pulleys ect,do the same basic rules apply to overboring a crossy like is there a limit on things like that,i have a set of 7/16 roller rockers here too i could use as i think the crossy uses the same clevo rockers,is there any other mods to look out for ?
-
nah the next wild crossy will be a c4
-
i see so just a tiny bit of play with a big screwey
-
how much end float should it have ?
-
funny you say that i was talking to my mate who owns a tranny shop ,he used to work in the geelong plant in that era and said the same thing that 4.0L were eating bearings.
-
yes thats what im saying its out of a carby 86xf they must be the same except for the plug
-
i also found a ef crank for this 86 da block, will put it aside for the next crossy project,(blower shop aussie speed combo)
-
This dizzy looks the same as the tfi one i bought althou just the est plug is different can someone confirm its the same xf dizzy b4 i pull it apart because the shaft is much better on this one.
