    There was just enough time this afi to semi clean another std clevo block this ones a 6/11/78 xc i would say but again no sign of blue paint it looks like the xd block being black i measured it up std bore,these std bore blocks are starting to rack up Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

    thing is i want my own 400 and the other one i am selling i have all the bits ,just spent $350 on the other 5ma 400 crank and its a glamour now 20/20 i want that one in my engine,and if i can save this one which is possible and fine for a stock build i will take it to the machine shop and see what they say ,cause its very hard to find 400 parts .

    Yeah i should invest in one of those,im also trying to save this 400 crank i got thrown in yesterday after a tub its showing its true colors someone has millied 1 side of it probly for a cheap fix i measured the cnt and its std but the rod size is same as 351c so only been able to find 040 so far which is what it needs i reckon to be cleaned up and 020 on the mains Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

    wasnt the mexican block the smallblock that was cast with high nickel i read that somewhere ages ago.

    Money wise a xf sedan will suit me with no p/s cause the 400 is a bitch to sought out p/s wise but anyway lets have a quick look at this block b4 taking it to the machine shop for hot tank and rebore ect my rebuild kit should come this week ,its a 1971 400 block and doesnt seem to have any damage to the bores so good so far,look how wide these are,also D1AE casting without any abbreviations after it means high nickel content only very early 400s were like this.i found this out on a clevo casting page Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

    next one is interesting a 1976 LTD JG71 factory 351c ,std bore light surface rust in bores and valley,i will just give it a tidy up.

    Ok well thar she is cleaned up a bit now looks like a very good core i always remove the oil plugs x5 and core plugs just to make sure its not too rusty in there and this one is fine the 1980xd black block ok lets dig the next one out and sus it out Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

    ok its a jg23xs which breaks down to nov 80 xd sedan build with cast date on the block sometime in late 1979 ,so i guess its a black block

    i measured it with the new digitalis and couldnt get a good reading it was changing everytime i measured it,it came up .430 to 400 the later is smaller shaft i just dont have atm,or any dizzy ftm,but its std bore and has a light lip rash ,so after cleaning 3 blocks we now know their cond atleast b4 chuxing money at them.

    I need some help on this one,very hard to read but casting date starts with a 9 so i figure this is a xd black block but it has the cf mark not the GF as i thought all black blocks were GF foundry its a jg23 so sedan but late xc or xd ?     Finally got a set of digital thingos so measured up all the blocks and have 7 standard bore and 1 thirty thou and 1 forty thou , also the crank came back from hot tank and polished now take the block down and see if we stay 030 or go 040 Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk
