i guess i fluked that block and heaps of research on these 400s paid off,casting numbers i mean,hey ford did make some XE casting number 4v headed manifolds for the testing which says they were thinking of making 400 4v engines but smog killed all that ,i seen some pictures of experimental 4v manifolds wow very rare.

There is good news and better news olm8 down the machine shop says the high nickel 400 block is a gem worth keeping while inspecting he could hardly even fit a tiny steel ruler between the bores meaning there is a ton of meat on this rare block and its as heavy as fk, i never seen him light up in the face like that he said no way this is gunna be a stocker ,he even said it will handle a supercharger Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

Im down to 1 std bore block now sold another this morn , also im thinking of selling one of these rare single plane edelbrock manifolds for a 400 the one on thr right from the usa and cost about $430 once deliverd to oz,and the other i picked up last week end in a 400 deal,see the little repair on the underside of manifold not sure what happend there but repair job is good Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

Might get me a set of them for my 400 build ,i looked at the molnar rods to suit the 400 very nice rod,about $1000 a set landed from usa ,but even the std 400 rod is pretty strong Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

some of them are awful when you take the core plugs out inside can be bad,but this one is very nice.

Next block is this f series chunky std bore 1977 it has the best walls so far out of all of em no lip and fk all rust in the outside walls also note f78 bla vla number stamped on block at the end of the day it looks a lot better Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

just as test i put that black jh63 std bore block on facebook marketplace mid morning and it was gone by 1.30pm for $400 and now his 2 mates want one as well ppfffffffffff,incredible how fast things operate online now,now invest the cash back into more new parts to build a few decent engines.

because thats 2 black blocks now with the cf foundry mark,the pillowblock i had was a GF mark,pretty weird how a block could sit for 3 years and not get used until the death of the clevo ? but v8 sales were getting thin back then as 4cyl cars were much more popular,or it sat on the eagle farm line in a bunch of hundreds until used up.

here is the one i got,cast on 2nd feb 82,i have also heard a rumor that some of these got into xd's very late ones as the xe took over in march/ april 82,just the look of these looks the goods.

From research i have done seems a batch of std d2ae pillowblocks were cast around early 82 and went into cars with air con and 90% were 302c cars eg fairlane ltd ghia mainly flagship models and the beefy (nascar block)went into esp and a few ended up scattered in a lucky dip in any model,action man will find another one as jh63 pillowblocks are quite common in qld ,999 of them were poured and individually numberd on the side of the block. yes i now remember the phone call with him he said he had a fairlane black block and when he said jh63 i thought this has to be a std pillowblock cause the last one i had was a jh63,but nah when i got there and checked em all out no pillowblock.

the XD was released in march 79 so it could be a black block ,its also a brissy JH63 fairlane block.meaning zj fairlane,lets see with more investigation tomorrow.
