ok thanks,im starting to collect a few items now for the build,i will get ol'm8 in brizzy to fab up the turbo manilfold soon.
-
awsome speed there 188kph !
-
i tryed the degreaser again but nope,so i will get some more cheap thinners and blast it clean, sure beats the rag .
-
well that worked,i only had about 2 litres left in the can and that only lasted about 2 mins but got it off quick smart and in the grooves as well, strong degreaser should be able to do the rest.
-
im gunna try to hook up a 4LT can of thinners to the gernie and blast it.
-
thinners is good but need a million rags
-
Awesome,I suppose that was the early c4 with a small spline ,is the Winsor smallblock the same converter ?
-
ok cheers ,what about the balancer 3 or 4 bolt ? or is that just depend on the crank
-
which top loader do you have ? normal or close ratio ?
-

-

back in the 80's 16'' simmons were all the rage, just about every commo had a set,if i was back in that era today i would have bought a set of bbs gold mesh like the ones green tuff had on it,which originated from the porshe cup cars in europe massive 19x14 on the ass
-
YEAH true,i think the 20'' looks silly on a xd-f around 15 to 18'' i prefere.
-
v5 is nice and period correct, you see quite a lot of them on grand prix's,but the new performance gold looks almost too good to resist for a look a like enkie.
-
mee too
-
next thing is price i think a set of 4 is around $1300 now the thinking question a set of new simmons with tyres is only $2000 so ?
-
Sure would Dave, big 17x9 on the back with low profile tyres
-
Those new ones have the black botls around the edge. The ones i have here dont.but will come up good with a scrub and machine.
-
yeah they look very nice,3 different colours too,gold 4 me,probly 15x8 and 15x9
-
me too for my grand prix replica only thing to think about is 15 or 17 ?
-
Performance still make these in 17'' now in ,8,9 and 10 inch, very close looking wheel to the enkie on the grand prix,

Aussie speed does these nice weiand kits for the crossy and 4.OL engines for about 6 grand ,but seriously for the same amount of money would a turbo kit be just as easy to fit and or more power/economy for your dollar,i always dream about putting one of these on an engine being a v8 or 6 ,from what i have read and seen around 6psi is the norm for the little blower but can be wound up with a pulley change, and with a turbo seems sky is the limit with 30 psi or more with hi po set up's,i have also seen a 4/71 on a crossy with some sort of custom manifold, manly on hot rods as there is plenty of engine bay room, seems its quite a popular conversion on the holden 202 but what about the 4.0L seems the turbo is so common on these engines.
-
first take off with the t5 3.25 1st gear clevo and 2.92 rear was quite good in the current xe,its a xg box.i suppose it would suit a crossy too
-
A xe -efi 4 speed car is hard to find, has the 3.06 first gear too
-
just stick her under the dash and use choke lol
