Hey check this out,i found this by accident,an interview with steve masterton about how by the end of 84 they had there 7500rpm clevo front running the pack, and next year the rules are changing so he is back to square 1,even at amaroo park which was a tiny circuit the xe looks sleek and very fast, listen to dick jonsons clevo when they talk to him live, and check the masterton engine at the begining of the video.

doesnt dwane jonson use those rockers he is the scorpian king
-
gerg also remember the usa clevo used a shorter pushrod than our clevos or it could be the other way around i know its about 020 ,i found this out the hard way, once machine work is done those heights on the pedistall might be ok instead of using shims under the rocker

ok i jumped on a usa 4x4 trux forum and this is what this engine was a big ass 4x4 f truck engine, but in saying that the only difference is that dipstix that is blocked off and the 4 x 4 sump has the dipstix going into it,but no mention of 2 stepped main bolts.
-
i showed the machine shop and he said the bolts even tho stepped are no different to all the other ones ? so i might just do some googling to make sure.
-
Hey does anyone know why these 2 main cap bolts are stepped ? Only just noticed this after cleaning Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

I TOOK the block down and first thing he said was that block has more lip than mick jagger, but should clean up nice at 040,he fixed the broken bolt in 5 mins, and then took the cam bearings out,now into the tank for a few days before boring and honing, hopefully by friday i can pick it up and paint it .

Just loading up the block and my new set of crome covers came Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

Hey chex this out ,289 9000+rpm just what we were talking about with the smaller windsors about high revs and it seems 289 is very popular.
-
Today i did some more cleaning work to get the block ready and im seeing a few things different in the casting to the earlier blocks as this one is a 1980 its a very late 400 block and the last revision as it has some little oil drainback difference mainly to unobstruct the flow back to the sump also cleaned the caps and it has CF cast into every nookie on this anchor Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

Got heaps done and here is that tiny block off for the dip stixk,i also found 1 broken bolt Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

Him modified is on the stand and 1st thing i notice is the dipstick is blocked off or non existent as the f trux had the dipstick in the sump hmmm and under all that crap is a nice late model block thats definitely a cf stamp Sent from my SM-G610Y using Tapatalk

D7TE-A3B BLOCK OUT OF CLEVELAND FOUNDRY IS OK,and cast date looks like 0j13 so she is a very late 351m/400 block will be interesting tomorrow when i clean it up a bit and get it ready for the tank.
-
The 351m block is here and its in ok cond perfect for re co std bore and gerg will like this one its a CF casting cleveland foundry i have never had one of these before,by the cast date which is hard to read i think its a 1980 but its definitely out of a f truck by the engine number and rear pick up bolt on mains i will take it to olm8 on monday if lockdown is over 4pm sunday and get him to do his trick on it.
