Inspire yourself: Incredible metal-work skills.
EgoXF replied to MNTL.XD's topic in Body and Exterior
i wish i had skills like these guys. we all say that some where born with these skills and others aren't, which is true in some aspects. but the fact of the matter is, these people devote there lives to these skill's and and put all of there time, blood, sweat and tears into it and this is why we need to nurture these skills and worship these people!! haha. I wish i had half the motivation and and devotion that some of these guys have, there is so many skills that I envy -
by the way, make sure it has enough holes to be able to mount buckets. my 91 xf has a bench and there are no mounting holes to allocate bucket seats that i have found

yeah some of the interior parts in the xf utes are disappointingly poor aren't they? they don't even cover things up fully sometimes. they where never meant to be show cars though
-
ahh yeah beauty! it's odd that they have different seals isn't it. i wonder why they are so different?
-
i'l have a look at work (autobarn) and see if we can get one of these for a better price and then you will know where to look. i'm sure there should be plenty out there for it.
-
unfortunately thats all factory man.
-
what do people think of these? i think they look very good for the price they're asking and i'm pretty sure that they are all pollution ready? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251377472875?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

hahaha, thats probably what i'll do then.
-
thanks guys, good info! that first one looks good for the price matt, but I was hoping to get some that i can put the egr pipes on. or should i just delete them and not give a shit? haha
-

everytime i get into my ute lately the first thing i notice is how shitty my headliner is so i'm looking into replacing it with something custom. the first thing i want to do is get rid of the rods that hold it up there because they shit me to tears and bring the liner a little closer to the roof. i'd like to maybe be able to do it without having to tuck it under the window rubbers which could bring some difficulty but im doing my homework. here's a couple of ideas; I like the bars that go across the roof on this one because it gives it an old school feel and it would be a good replacement for the polls that hold it up. this ones a little more difficult i think but i've noticed that a lot of cars use these solid headliners and i think that if i could make one of these it would work well. i just need to know what they make them out of and how to shape it. i would love to hear any ideas you guys might have
-
that looks great! do you need Xg/h door rubbers for it too work?
-
Your not wrong, sometimes it certainly does! Can drive anything we want on our l's but when we get to p's its all taken away from us, forced to drive standard sixes :'( Yes i would say I'll have to go gas, but in prepared to do that

g'day guys, I'm in the middle of doing a quick engine swap and I was wondering if it is worth changing the cam and if so what cam should i look for? At the moment the motor is bassically dead standard and i would like a little increase in power that the cops won't hassle me about, and i'd like to give it a better exhaust note as well, bit of lump if possible. any advice would be greatly apreciated, cheers, Jason

thats the way mate! you've grown up and it's time to go and play with the big boys! haha if all goes to plan this old girl will be getting an old school 351, because that's the motor iv'e wanted since the time my dad brought a smoking hot XD when i was only 6. I can likely also blame it on my early years. when i was a baby i used to have trouble sleeping and the parants couldn't get me to stop crying, so they would fire up the XB GT coupe and take me for a burn around the block. put me straight to sleep everytime! haha. i'm going to find one in a year or two and build it ready for when i get my full licence.
-
ooh don't you worry mate, once i'm working full time i better stay off here because i'll be buying performance parts left and right! haha
-
oh my ass is the tightest of tight mate so budget is best! hahaha. i've actually put this idea on hold for a little while however as money is needed elsewhere and i think it would do better in the next 250 build i do, which will be the rebuild of the one that is already in it
-
haha, the waiting for the new peice of your toy is always the worst part ey!
-
yeah the kit's that you can get come from crow come with a timing set apparently. and thanks to autobarn employees discounts i'll be able to get it at cost price which will help! being 18 i don't have a lot of spending money so this all depends on wether i can sell some stuff real quick or not haha. i just thought it would be a good idea while the motor is already apart.
-
thanks mate! i'm going to price the kits for these at work tomorrow and see what i can work out
-
damm that sounds good! thanks for the info mate
-
thanks mate i'll take a look!
-
yep, it sure does
-
ahh yeah good one! thanks mate that actually helps a lot
-
yeah it should be the same, im still yet to size it up and try it though so who knows. i think the only difference between the xh and xf is the roundness of the roof
