  1. Hey guys. I'm looking for some shorter bodied shocks for the back of my XF ute. I'm aware that there are probably high end solutions on the market but as I have a tight budget I was wondering if anybody knows of any shocks from a different make and model that would fit the ute? I've heard of people taking shocks from more commonly modified cars and swapping them into the more obscure stuff before so I was wondering if it might be an option for us? The bottom plate could easily be modified so that may open up some options? Sent from my SM-A505YN using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the info guys. I'm only looking into it as I put the diff back in the ute the other day without shocks to get it rolling again, and I noticed that it has lowered a good inch or more than it was before. I might be completely wrong (I know little about suspension setups and geometry), but the only difference Is the fact that it doesn't have any shocks in it, so I guessed that if I were to run a shorter shock it may sit a little bit lower? Maybe the standard ute shocks keep it sitting higher? Please let me know if I'm incorrect here haha Sent from my SM-A505YN using Tapatalk
  3. Great article bear, i took my calipers off a year ago and couldn't remember which side the bleeder went on so this helped a lot haha. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  4. I said a while ago that I would make a video for you guys on how we did the fuel tank cover on my ute so I thought I would finally upload one for you. I Hope I covered everything! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Xd headlights into XF

Hey guys. I'm starting the process of wiring up the ute and I have a few questions about the headlight wiring for this conversion. My plan is to use as much as the original XF loom that I can, so I have cut the plug off of an XF headlight with the hope of joining it onto the XD headlight. My issue is that the XF had a separate high beam globe where as the XD just has a single globe, so I need to know if I can wire it in a way that allows the XF switches to control the high beams on the XD lights. I don't have an XD that I can look at so any help would be appreciated, cheers! Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Xd headlights into XF

Yeah I'll be using split loom, but eventually I'll be making shrouds for the headlights so you won't see any of it Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Xd headlights into XF

I ended up just using the XF wiring. The grommet from the XF light fits the XD backing so I just transfered them over. As for wiring, I just cut the XF parker plug off and joined the XD terminals onto it. Then I just cut the seperate high beam wires off at the plug. Easy as Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Xd headlights into XF

Thanks Dean that helps a lot. I'll run the XF wires through a new gromet and solder them back together. The XF indicator globe holder fits the XD indicator so I'll pop that in and seperate the wires from the main loom Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Windsor into XF base plates.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been covered and I've just haven't found it, but I need to know what others have done for base plates when putting a windsor into an XF. I was told that XE would work but they are very different. Are late XF cross members possibly different to early xf? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Fibreglass X-Falcon panels

8 weeks wait for everybody at the moment. We're closing our books and working our asses off to try and get everything done before Christmas

    Fibreglass X-Falcon panels

We won't work out prices until the mold is made but I'll keep you guys updated. Unfortunately it's a fair way down the list at the moment as we have a tonne of parts on order and a lot of molds to make but we should get there early next year

    Fibreglass X-Falcon panels

Not trying to get a free plug or anything but i just thought i would mention that we are actually in the process of starting a mold for X series tailgates as my boss and his son are building an XG ute for hillclimbs and street use. I had the same thoughts about using a fiberglass skin over the steel ones because as people have mentioned we can make the glass really thick while keeping it light. In fact it should be better than steel because I doubt it would crack from a towball impact where steel would dent and buckle.

    Painting front bumper

i did with my front bar on the ute the second time i painted it. The first time i hit a gutter the paint bassicaly shattered and flaked off, but after we added the flex aid stuff it never had an issue again. Not untill i hit the wallaby anyway
  17. I used to have bfgs on the ute and while they lasted forever I had a lot of trouble finding grip in the rain. I ended up switching to a set of nangkangs. Good grip, no issues in the wet, handled seemingly well around corners, low noise and my tire guy sold them to me for $150 a piece. Mine where only 230's though

    X series ute tailgate's

unbelievable! i guess they figure that if something works well, why bother changing it? which would be why the ute bodies where the same for so many models. makes it easy to get certain parts at least

    X series ute tailgate's

i brought one about five years ago and it looks and fits fine. there's no ripples or anything in it so im more than happy. unfortunately i don't remember the brand so this isn't much help to you but i think the key is too not buy the cheapest one on there haha

    XF Bench to buckets

when i got the ute all i talked about doing was getting rid of the bench but now i love it! it's so comfortable it makes it feel like your driving a couch sometimes haha
  21. i just found the box that my boss kit came in and the one that is on it is a bk132L. I have no idea what came with the wheel but it was pulled straight off another XF, and it didn't even slip onto the spline which is why i tried the L
  22. g'day blokes. since iv'e taken the standard wheel off to put on my momo i have had this shitty looking gap, and the plastic actually rubs on the boss kit causing it to slowly grind away shaving of plastic and it moves with the wheel occasionally too. now Polson told me too find a normal XF column plastic which iv'e been meaning to try but, but before i go buying parts has anybody else tried anything else? the momo by EnvyXF, on Flickr
  23. yours still sits miles closer to the blinker stalk than mine does!
  24. oh i agree, people are definitely born with pure talent in the brain but whether they choose to follow it or not and whether they like to do it is what brings it out in them. put it this way, you could be one of the worlds greatest make up artists, but unless you have tried it you will never know, and because you probably don't have any interest in it you will never have the motivation to find out
  25. thanks mate i'll have to check out that p/n at work. i could only find 2 saas xf boss kits in our database and one of them wouldn't fit on the spline at all for some reason and then there was this one
