No i didnt think of that Dean, i'll concider it for next time. Theres a bloke on Ebay who makes the column linkage bushes. How do you adjust it with a multimeter?
-
Well i've adjusted the safety switch acording to my gregerys repair manual using a no. 43 drill shank (0.89" or 2.26mm)

Vacuum diagram for Thermoquad + tuning
XTREME KARTS XF replied to XTREME KARTS XF's topic in Cleveland
Thanks fellas!! Im a noob when it comes to carbys on cars so im on a learning curve lol, more used to the ones on my 2 Go Karts. -
Hi fella's, I want to put the Thermoquad on for deni ute muster as the holley will need an overhaul. Can anyone help out where the vacuum lines go? And what should i adjust for tuning etc?
-
Cheers for the advice Dean!! Yeah dad sold a heap of Holley Grose Jets to Johnny Dyno back in the 90's and sold 2 to family friends of ours who raced V8 Commodore Cup. Yep definitely going to take the Holley as a spare carby to Deni!! Which way to rotate it? Left our right? It has elongated mount holes.
-
Ok i just started it again in Park by pushing the selecter up a little bit. She fired right all "a-ok". This selecter rod out of adjustment by pushing the lever up?
-
After letting it cool down and moving the column selecter around abit it cranked but i now think that the carby might have a sticky needle and seat as well. I'll check for spark and see how strong it is, if its weak i'll replace the coil.
-
Alright it was going yesterday, was out by 1 tooth. Now it was idling fine in the shed then she started to miss then stalled. Cracked over a few times before it fired up again but still had a miss, now it wont turn over on the key so im thinking that the neutral safety switch is out of adjustment. Tried starting it in park and neutral but nothing.

Yes, 13726548 anti clockwise for distributor rotation I'll give it a shot. Where should the vac advance be connected to? Ported vacuum or full manifold vacuum? Running the 600 Holley for now till i install the thermoquad for deni ute muster.
-
I know theres fuel at the carby, took the feed line off and there was some pressure in the line.
-
When i move it clockwise to advance it the vacuum canister hits the thermostat housing and when moved anti clockwise the module cover touchs the manifold.

Vacuume tree has broken off, not uncommen but i've got a brass one to use. Any tips on how to remove it without butchering up the thread?

How do You Stop Crossflow's killing Dissy's
XTREME KARTS XF replied to XFGHIA747's topic in Crossflow
Polson is in the right track, its was very much Incorrect machining, a hardened distributor gear will solve this problem, Crow Cams make the gear to suit, part no. DG2 I bought this gear not long after i rebuilt the engine in my BnS basher back in July 2011, 3 years later and no problems since -
Cheers Pete!!
-
Thanks fella's I pinched this tree off the wagons old engine, only have to buy the one brass vacuum tree Yes the manifolds dirty but i did give it a clean as best as i could
-
Well i took out the front vacuum tree, didnt want to it to break so i'll get one from burson tomorrow morning. The threads looked pretty good, does anyone know what the size and thread pitch is? I'll buy a thread tap or thread chaser to clean em up.

Got it out with no worries, a blow torch and a screw driver fucked it off quicksmart. Copper Anti Seize Trev?
-
Cheers pete!! I'll give it a shot!!

Deankdx reco'ed a set of genuine units for his XF ute and i tell ya they were pretty awesome at night!! Used standed globes and got the reflectors rechromed.

My brother had the same sorta issue with his LTD 5ltr, new coil and problem solved so i suggest replacing the coil. Its worth putting some hi temp paste on as it'll stop corrosion and help the TFI module last a little longer as electronics dont like heat.
-
Did you apply some hightemp paste on the TFI module that contacts the distributer? Ignition coil replaced or still the original one?
-
Dodgy hall senser maybe? Is the TFI module still the original MotorCraft one?
