Hey fella's, I need to reposition the LPG converter as im reinstalling the standed airbox. Is the postion of the converter critical for it to perform well? This is where its located. Was thinking of mounting it like this? Or in a different position would be better?

I had the same issue not long after i bought my XF Justin. If i can recall the later models had a metric sump plug thread? I went into Ford and managed to buy one off the shelf.

Hey fella's My XH wont run on petrol, runs on gas and thats it. Fuel pump works and theres injector pulse, now before i start throwing money at replacing the injectors i want to go though the wiring side of it. Fuel pump works as i replaced it and cleaned up the connections at the sender unit when i pulled it out. Wheres a good place to start chasing for wiring faults? At the switch theres no wire running into it for the "petrol" side of it And theres this random relay thats just chilling here, is this relay meant to live in the engine bay somewhere if im correct? Still have to trace where the wires go to. LPG control box/ECU Wiring that runs from the control box leads to here and splits off as you can see A wire or 2 goes into here While the others lead to these relays at the convertor I'll be honerst with ya's, im a noob when it comes to electrical and LPG. So i might be asking some dumb questions lol. Gas tank needs to come out as its out of date and i want to get it tested. And i need to relocate the convertor as i want to fuck the pod filter right off and run the standed airbox and intake snorkel.

Well she lives again!! Now its running on petrol i can pull the gas tank out and have it tested. Many thanks to Thom for the replacement fuel rail and parts. And cheers for the meet and catch too!! I did get a ride in his wagon, sounds awesome, now we have to compare V8's Now running on petrol, i call that a job well done

With the gas side of things i need to relocate the convertor Mainly because of the RWC checkout and i want to fuck it right off completely and run the standed airbox. Is the position of the convertor important for it to work properly and to reduce the possibility of backfiring?

Update: Pulled the fuel rail off and what greated me when i pulled out an injector from the rail was rust and scale. Looks like im up for a replacement fuel rail, will give reco-ing the original Ford ones myself a go as i've never done it before. Rebuild kit Didnt know that the genuine ones were Nippon Denso Inside the fuel rail

Bit of an update: Got the plenum off, i've also decided to service the injectors, might as well since god knows when it was last ran on petrol. Better to be safe than sorry!! I noticed that the intake gasket is a Fel-pro one? Has a Ford part number by the looks of it? Carbon build up from the gas, no wounder why the accelerator pedal was sticking shut. Got a can of throttle body cleaner to fix that up.

4160's DONT have a secondary metering block, and some 4160's dont have external float adjectment if im correct? 4160's have 2 styles on fuel bowls. Centre Hung Float bowls (fuel inlet on a 45 degree angle) And Side Hung Float bowels (fuel inlet on the left hand side, commen to see banjo fittings used on some 4160's) I have a cast body 4160 on my XD, i suppose alloy is good for looks? As for performance wise between to 2 styles of body i cant help you on that one.

I decided to buy a new reg as i really didnt fancy pulling the one off the LTD as its been exposed to the weather since theres no bonnet on it now as he sold it. Will pick up the reg tomorrow during me lunch break at work and fit it when i get home. Fingers crossed that it kicks over on petrol.
-
I reckon so, will take the one off my brothers LTD 5ltr as i know that one works.
-
Blocked off the fuel pressure return line and she wanted to kick into life on petrol, otherwise it just cranks over.
-
Ok, I unplugged the maf and no go, tried starting fluid it and it wants to run. Im targeting the fuel pressure regulator as the next possable cause. I'll block off the fuel return line and see how that goes...

Gee i must be brain dead from working on buses, but you get that when you work on diesel engines LOL LOL Yes fuel pump works and its got injector pulse. Never thought of using "Start Ya Bastard" down its mouth (again brain dead from work on diesels LOL) When i get home from trade school tomorrow i'll give it a wirl with starting fluid and clamping off the fuel return line.

XD manual consoles have a leather gear boot that is secured from the underside, XE uses a rubber gear boot that has a metal ring rivited to the top side of the console.
-
Sure is, i checked via the schrader valve

I had the same issue with my XD when i bought it. Incorrect globes will also do it! Mine at different wattage globes in each corner.

Manual and P/S box pitman arms are different. They can be a real prick to get off as the nut is done up to 300 nm. You need a special pitman arm puller that has the muscle to get them off.

Cast iron manifold needing repairs
XTREME KARTS XF replied to Panko's topic in Forced Induction Tech
Gary used a standed manifold on his old XF Ghia turbo (WYLDXF) never seemed to have an issue. Another way of truing up the mating surfaces is to use a belt sander, keeping the flanges flat of course and checking as you go. Be sure to check the mating surfaces with a straight edge Aaron -

Why not have a go at rebuilding your original assembly? I bought these of Ebay for my XD, might end up buying another pair for my XH http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/111620104254?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT -
Looks like a SAAS bosskit? I had issues with a SAAS one i bought for my XH. Interior looks nice with the new wheel.

My mate Brando's stepdad has the same wheel in his WB Holden ute. That old wood grain looks nice Steve

Hey fella's, The fuel gauge in my XD is dodgy. Ever since i've owned it the gauge reads 3/4 full when the fuel tank is full of fuel (68 litres) Now i've also noticed that the needle skips between 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 of a tank. Do i have a dodgy earth? bad sender/pickup? or a dodgy fuel gauge?
