If you had a chassis dyno and unlimited time , or even just roadtesting it / tuning / roadtesting again ect how do they tune it for max advance over all the range? do they just keep adding timing untill it pings then back it off ? or have i been doing it wrong on my cortina ect lol

To properly tune the sub u defintly need a seperate rca out for it, and lpf / hpf and a subsonic filter! I suppose you could get away with just 2 rca outs with a ute , as you would prolly use just the rear ?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hi guys i am up for a new daily soon. looking at an f truck (which are getting so rare now lol) or if that doesnt pan out.. A ba egas ute. Just wondering on the gas system they use? is it injected vapor or mixer setup? how does it interact with the ecu ect? its a bit hard to find details on the net .. googled it a fairbit

ECU wise. what happens if i want to tune it for a bit of extra power, as they usually leave a bit on the table in the factory tune? what about a diff gear change, usually needs a reflash? :S

Yeah not to worried about issues like that one , all the taxis use em so im sure there are a lot of mechanics out there that can get em going again quickly and easily can they be flash tuned or anything ? how does that work ?

if it helps , i had the same problem, bled the shit outta the brakes lol, diddnt help. the only thing i couldnt try was using the injector style of bleeding them

Car is meant for unleaded fuel. you will prolly find that it will stop once u put a good dizzy/box in it. my corty did that before i put an electronic dizzy in it

Get a good dizzy for it first, ie ICE or MSD, then get a msd digital programmable box, very easy to tune the spark that way, then change the diff ratio. after that i would start looking at options for stroking the engine ect .. but u will be amazed on how much better it will run with a proper ignition and 3.5 ratio diff!

I agree, the motors , complete , arn't to cheap The easiest option would be to buy a nc/dc fairlane/ltd or any early e series car with a v8, rip it all out, j3 chip it to get rid of the smartlock. Ive bought a few now that are cheaper than what some wreckers want for a 302w longblock lol if you spend 1000-1500 on a complete car spend ~200$ on the j3 chip maybe a few hundred on the wiring loom ect if you cant do it yourself should be a pretty cheap conversion, and if you buy the whole car you can steal the cats from it , as well as obviously the ecu and accelerator cable setup , vac hoses ect ect would be a pretty sweet conversion for ~2000 all thats different on the gearbox side is you need a 157 tooth flywheel thats 50oz balance for the windsor

I run a torker 2 on the 5.0 windsor , using a 650 baseplate, modded the TPS to make it work on the 351 i ran a Impco425 and an Xcellerator manifold

Its a good sign when the trickflow heads are banned from some speedway applications in the usa, and thats the only head in their class thats banned lol must be doing something right

Thats my intention, gotta get a MSD to run the dizzy, other than that , that's all i really need to run it . Im sure there will be niggling issues to deal with. After a while ill buy some pipes and fabricate everything , ive already got the turbo I can afford a cam kit in the short term , but i cant afford the forged motor for a while lol, unsure what block ill use I might end up just grabbing the f303 cam kit anyways its 400$ , at the very least ill need valve springs for the 'temporary' motor when it gets boost

I have a an Efi 302w in my xb at the moment , Its from a 94' Dc Ltd. i want to swap out the timing chain setup for a double roller, and i might as well do the cam at the same time then haha What cams have people had good experiences with? What sorta power can be made with these shit heads? I am planning on building a forged motor for boost , so this engine is pretty much just to fill in that gap, not to worried about driveablilty as i dont drive the car to much Do these engines come standard with roller rockers?

Ive also heard the standard cam is ok, but i heard that was the mustangs not our cars ? Ill definitly need valve springs and roller rockers , thought i may as well change the cam for the extra 200$*

IMO dollar for dollar i recon u would be better of with whatever carb manifold suits your motor best, and get the holes milled for injectors? Not sure what angles ect u have to drill the holes on, but if you could weld bosses onto it yourself it would end up being pretty cost effective
