Fmx slip yoke to XD tailshaft.

Thanks for the reply. We tried that part number from repco & it was no go. The fmx yoke is heaps wider than the XD shaft. I'm think we will need a whole new shaft??

    Wagon fuel tank dimensions

Thanks mr polson. Greg, I know that ute thanks are not as wide, but they are a deeper thank. I may need to use the ute tank if that's all that will fit between the rails.
  5. Good evening folks. I'm hoping somebody could assist me with some dimensions. I'm trying to find out if the XD station wagons & sedans had the same width between the chassis rails. I'm going to cut the floor out of the boot of my XD sedan & box it in with square tube, then fit a steel fuel tank to enable a twin exhaust to be fitted. Just need to work out if it will be a ute or wagon tank. I've got an engineer that has given the thumbs up to the mod. Just gotta find the bits. Cheers stu.

    302 4v heads

Hey guys, can anyone tell me much about 302 4v windsor heads? I understand they have a smaller combustion chamber and possibly bigger valves. The ones I have also have guide plates and adjustable rocker gear. Are these heads rare or worth any money. Cheers stu.

    302 4v heads

They are defiantly not a Clevo style head. They are a windsor head that has 4v. Gotta double check the other numbers. Thanks for the info. Will post pictures when I can.

    Setting up a 750 DP

Hey guys and gals. Hoping to pick some brains. Just mucking around with the 750 Holley on the XD. It was rich as at idle and constantly stinking of fuel. I got 69 primary's and 80 secondary's with a 6.5 power valve. It went quiet well with only a very slight hesitation when cruising. I checked the vacum and it was pulling about 7 inches at idle when in drive. It has the comp cams XE274 cam in it. As per Holley guide lines I fitted a 3.5 power valve. It now has a major hesitation and is almost undrivable. Do I need a bigger PV or bigger primary jets? Thanks in advance.

    Setting up a 750 DP

G'day sly, it's a square bore. Can't run a spacer cause the shaker won't clear. Not sure on squirter size.

    Setting up a 750 DP

Brakes a fine mate. It does have the large fairlane booster fitted. It has a 3000 rpm stall converter. Plugs are brand new. BP5FS. The idle screws are 1.5 turns out. It drove pretty good with the 6.5 power valve, it turned to shit with the smaller PV.

    Cleavage upgrade.

Hey guys, just letting you all know, I'm gunna hold off running the XD this weekend. It's gunna be over 35 degrees at the creek and I don't wanna push the old girl too hard in those temps.

    Cleavage upgrade.

Hey guys, I just did some more work to the clevo in my xd. It's got 2v closed chamber heads with bigger valves, but only minor clean up of the ports, I fitted and dailed in a comp XE274h cam with con lifters, bitten end is 30tho over with ARP bolts, it's running an RPM air gap, 750dp mechanical Holley and an MSD dizzy. Stage 2 shift kited c4 with 3000rpm stall and 3.45 LSD. Just looking for opinions on this combo and possible HP output. Also any idea what would be the best timming and jet sizes for the carb. Cheers.

Hey guys, heading to the street meet this Sunday, 9th Febuary. Should be a good day. If your down there, I'm running a red XD with shakers and B45 Simons on it. Cheers stu.

No worries mate, it's just the drag strip I'm going to, not the full track. But I'll defiantly give you done feed back. Might takes done dizzy springs, timming tight and jet kit with me.

If the old girl does what you guys reckon, I'll be bloody happy. My XD is just abit of a play toy between work, kids and paying the mortgage. So it's nothing too serious, but keeps me entertained. I appreciate all the input and advice. I will most defiantly process it all and put it to use. If any of you guys are Sydney based, I hope to be at the creek for the Febuary 9th Sunday street meet.

I'm running 72 primary's and 80 in the secondary. It's rich as shit at idle at the momant. I'd have no issues getting it right it i spent some time on it, I was just trying to avoid f@cking around if someone had this combo and had it set up already. Think ill screw the 70's I got at home into the primary and see where it gets me. Last time out at the creek with the smaller cam I was running 14.1 all day. So we gotta start somewhere.

What has my predicted txt done! Thanks for the info guys. The cam sure don't sound tame when it's idling. We will see how it goes down the creek. Wanna get to the stret meet on the 9th of February.

Thanks mate, highway use and engine wear isn't a huge issue. It's lucky to get out once a month and just something fun to take to eastern creek. Thanks for the info and I will keep you posted. Hoping to get down the 1/4 early next month.
