Guys, I've created this thread to keep people up to date with T.I. Performance and our efforts to tune EA-AU Ford Falcon EEC-V and EEC-IVs using widely available software and cost effective hardware. Our aim is to provide reliable, value for money performance tuning for EA, EB, ED, EF, EL and AU Ford Falcons, both I6 and V8. For the latest info on the hardware and definitions, see http://www.tiperformance.com.au. For software, im using TunerPro RT. If you are not interested in DIY tuning your own car... I can provide Pre-Programmed J3s, ready to plug into your ECU, which will 'convert' an Auto ECU into Manual, Standard into Tickford/XR6, etc. I also offer Custom Pre-Programmed Chips with tunes 'tweaked' for stock/mild/crazy cams giving much better idle quality, fuel economy, power & AFRs. Hey Jim, We've chosen grinds for each stage that offer a progressive increase in lumpiness for each stage. If you're looking for a warm cam good for street driving, retaining good economy but with a decent improvement in top end, the Stage 3 would be our recommendation. The product pages for all of our cams show full cam specs if you need more data. We see better results with the newer ECU and they have better idle and trans control strategies. You will not need to change valve, but springs are a must with a performance cam. Choose the springs linked from the cam page. Hope this helps! Cheers, Jason

Yes and yes mate. We can do a base tune that will get you close but you will want to dial it in with a Programmer or on a Dyno to get it spot on and make sure it's safe. Anybody who tells you they can tune a 10psi boosted V8 sight unseen is pulling your leg! We can also supply fuel system components, BOV etc. PM/Email/Message us some details for more info. Sounds like someone has loaded the wrong tune onto it. The tune must be for the correct ECU series for it to work. Inbox us if you would like us to retune it to suit your ECU. Cheers, Jason

No mate I believe they are fine with E85. The long green 968s, not the early EV1 black and greens.

Absolutely mate, we see gains on completely stock cars. We can do a Stage 2 J3 Chip to suit the MAF mods (they lean out a little in the midrange with the stock sensor in the larger housing) and alter the timing to suit premium fuel. Most definitely mate. The wideband O2 controller is fully E85 compatible, and the J3 will work great with NOS - you can even add a Relay Switch to automatically trigger a NOS tune if you want it to run well both on and off the bottle. We also have fuel pumps and injectors to get the E85 flowing if you need them (as you probably know, E85 requires 30% more fuel then petrol). Cheers, Jason

Hey mate, The pencil type AU injectors do atomise better but I would only change them if your current ones are damaged/clogged. The difference is negligible and the tune will make a bigger difference to economy. BA injectors are too large and FG injectors won't fit. Our Stage 2 chips allow time to tune for aftermarket cams, I'll need the cam details when you order. Cheers, Jason

We don't really do general diagnostics on electrical problems like this. You don't actually say what the problem is, but if the car is not cranking due to Smartshield, we will be able to help if you send us an email with a bit more detail about what the actual problem is. Cheers, Jason

The fact that everything you tried with the chip gives the same problem tends to indicate the problem is not with the chip! I assume you've checked the basics, ie. is the timing advancing correctly or locked, fuel pressure and AFRs in check, neutral switch wired correctly etc. Send me an email with some details about what was done to the loom and what else was changed from when the engine was running in the NF and we'll go from there. Hi mate, The spark base goes to 4000rpm because there is a separate table for WOT. This is explained in the tuning guide. The smartlock flag is called "Smartlock enabled" and is ticked by default. You would then untick it to disable. Cheers, Jason

Here's something a bit different for you. Nigel's E36 BMW V8! He's running an AU Windsor & ECU with one of our J3 Chips to disable Smartshield and custom tune the engine.
