I've had this idea of putting the big greenstuff flares and xe bumper and front skirt on a xf, I reckon it would look mad.
Ilied showed the front bar works.

Yeah I'm pretty much sold on them. Pretty sure Justin at tuff car parts does pretty good prices for them, might have to flick him an email.

Trouble with Clevos is they are old. So as they get harder to get prices will go up.
As pointed out e and a series v8 donors are a dime a dozen.
-
If you were gonna use a modern wheezer then an au motor would be better, but then you would be better off keeping the efi too, which negates the simplicity of carbs.

Lol stock na fg xr6s rape a lot of things, 5.slo's aren't alone there.
But I get what you mean, I just don't want to go backwards in performance for the sake of noise.
It's one thing the Holden v8 seems to always have is that deep rumble as they cruise past, even when they're not loud the sound just seems to cover everything else.

I was thinking delete the front mufflers, but was worried they would be too loud, or drone.Havn't heard em on the ute yet but there ready and waiting...centre-centre 2.5" x 2.

But can I suggest you delete the mid mounted mufflers and leave the rear 1 and see if you like that first. My 5ltr Ay you is like that with only a rear mount with paceys and twin 2.25's into single 2.5" rear mount muffler.A bit louder than stock @ idle but not rude and the noise when you rev it is awesome...the performance is not so though
Original plan was replace the front with hookers, and delete the rear, or replace the rear with a hot dog style one.
Do you think you lost performance when you deleted the front? Or it was always not so flash performance wise?

Cheers guys, thom that would be great if you could find them on YouTube.
-
Basically my wheezer is too quiet, I like its note it's just quiet.
I keep hearing how great hookers are (the exhaust type of hooker...) but what actually makes them good?
Are they louder than the average aftermarket muffler?
This is what I'm running at the moment. Seems too nice to cut up to swap mufflers but if it makes it sound better I'm all for it.
-
For the price of a semi decent aftermarket amp it's not worth it.
-
I did it to my old xf, il see if I can find a pic.
Edit... Duh. The pic is in my sig lol.

That xh could be using one of those fibreglass copies? They're cut to the shape of the black outs. Which would make it hard to delete the original lines.

How is that on an e series?
Benj's eb wagon is one of the better e series using the Xb flutes IMO.

Shipping is estimated at $408 US. This would bring the total bank transfer amount to $3314.This is direct from tcp suspension for the coil over kit with everything . Double adjustable shocks , new spindles , the works
That's good value...

Crossflow will always be a stronger motor then the 4L.
Define stronger?

$1k a rim is a joke IMO no matter what brand they are there's so many rims on the market these days I mean who'd spend $6k for tyres and rims for say some prick to steal them or you damage them when for $2k you could have the lot and still have a mean looking car on wicked rims, I once thought of simmons for mine then I went to HO falcons and a few other places they were like above $1k+ a rim I thought stuff this so I just bought a full set of reconditioned snowflakes that are in charcoal, chrome centres with postage $87 a rim yes they are only 15x7s but I can get a 235 tyre on the arse end lowered to the max with a fake drop tank and I bet it will look just as good as any rim just my 2c but hey it's personal pref I guess
Lol at comparing quality three piece rims, available in whatever offset and size you want, to some stock 1980s alloys...

Iirc in the last few years of Simmons before the old guy retired they were actually importing a lot, they werent the 'Aussie made' icon they made out to be. At least not at the end.
-
Too big for x series aren't they?
-
Nearly 1 k a rim I heard.
I didn't watch the vid, but I thought Tempe are doing the fr's and one other style, and the rest of the tooling/rights were sold to some other wheel shop, that specialises in retro style wheels?
-
What about just manualising a btr? Would you still need to run the tcu?
-
The early eb's (I think) used a standalone trans controller, would control an au trans just as well I would imagine.
Gotta be the easiest way to run a btr in a xfalcon.

Will the blower kit suit carb or efi?

I'm gonna be setting up my trailer with solar as well, certainly gets complicated when you get right into it.
