  1. I'd be dropping the sump and rocker cover off. Gaskets are cheap and easy to replace. Gearbox and carb are not what he claims from the pics so he rather doesn't know what's he is on about or not telling the truth?
Fresh paint doesn't mean fresh internals

Seller has never claimed it's a t5, just that it's a five speed.
And it could still be a 650 two barrel, won't know until I look at it.

He's given me no real reason to doubt him, I'm probably just being a bit paranoid.

I'm no Holley expert but I thought the largest 2 barrel carb they make is 500cfm. From memory a 650dp is a 4 barrel. That's clearly a 2 barrel in the video.

Will yella terra roller rocker fit under the stock valve cover? I couldn't see a spacer but I'm pretty sure there isn't much room under there.

I always thought you needed a spacer, or aftermarket cover too. One reason why so many use aussiespeed rocker covers.

  3. Thanks guys, sure is risky buying like this. Especially when a stocker Crossy is worth a couple of hundy at best so if the motor isn't what it's supposed to be then it's an expensive aussiespeed manifold and Holley lol.

its a near two hour drive each way for me, so I'm taking the trailer with me if it's any good but I'm quite prepared to come back empty handed if it seems dodge.

  4. I'm going to look at a new motor for my van next weekend, it's had a fair bit of work done to it, but it's now out of the car so can't be heard running, although I have seen a video of it running

What can I check to verify its not just a stocker with a price tag?

also, do all t5s have t5 cast on the side of the box? I just wanna make sure it's not a sigma box lol.

This is what's supposed to be done to it.

"20 over acl acl bearings polished crank 494 lift crow cam Aussie speed intake yellow terra roller rockers heads has had $800 spent on it alone 650dp carb with a kit and new bowl extractors double row roll master timing set electronic dizzy"

hes chasing $1500, which I think is fair if it's all legit.

  5. Ea-ed wags diff, keep the springs on them gives a nice ride, reset them lower if you like.

Easy, piece of piss job, takes stuff all time to do.

Remember though the tailshaft will be different as the eseries run a flange instead of a yoke.  So remember to get the tailshaft too.

Old post, but I'm currently planning my diff swap, and trawling through some old posts.

Do the e series wagons springs bolt straight into xf? Wasn't planning on a spring swap, but I'm guessing normal wagon Springs will ride much much much better than my heavy duty Spring pack.

  6. YEAH true,i think the 20'' looks silly on a xd-f around 15 to 18'' i prefere.

Yeah not many can pull of 20s. Seen a few that look good but so easy to look out of proportion.

I had 20s on my old ute, and got rid of them and went to old school 15x8s and it looked better and drove much better.

  7.

That's what I'm thinking of going on my xf, good, looking rims,,especially the 17x10

Deep dished Gold 17's would look shit hot on your van.

I'm leaning more towards charcoal centres. I like the contrast against the bright yellow.1fc50d88f8abb5ed488f07038291758f.jpg

  8. So the diff is not square/ 90 degrees to the chassis rails? One way to square up/adjust the "lead" in the rear end is adjustable lowering blocks. If you mesure the wheel base it'll be different from one side of the car to the other AND one side will have "toe in" while the otherside will have "toe out"

Adjustable lowering blocks are commen in America in circle track racing and speedway.

    Something like this

    That is fucking genius.

  9. some did some didnt. both of my Mk1s have had them. Some Mk2s have as well.

people swap them out for singles all the time because the 2 piece are hard to service.

apparently ford did it to quieten down the cabin. i.e. the 2 piece vibrates less etc etc.

Yeah I've never had a mk1 but had a few mk2s. None however were factory standard lol so quite possibly all done after factory.
