Yeah, will attempt to glue in the old one for now, but I appear to have talked myself into an upgrade over the last few days. Besides, a unit with Bluetooth would be nice.....!
As most cars come with integrated music systems these days, I've found the hard way looking in brick-and-mortar stores there's not nearly as much demand for headunits these days, as the older cars slowly die out. Bit of a shame, really: how do modern car-owners customise their systems?
B series owners tend to fit a single din unit under the icc and completely bypass the original head unit.
Seems most people upgrade the speakers at most and leave it at that these days.

Haven’t seen a removable face headunit for years. They’re just not needed anymore.
I’d just use some glue and fix the current one, unless you’re set on a modern unit.
Can get a quite decent unit for under $100 these days.

Yeah super lows have them sitting on the bumpstops.

You know, that’s exactly why so many of us older guys ran air shocks back in the day...

Could Escorts even tow trailers?
I dunno the 1300 would like that...
I had a mk2 Ghia that someone had dumped an 1100 into, I towed a box trailer a few times with it. Wasn’t fast. Ever. But it did it.

As someone who’s owned a lot of escorts over the years I’ll just say you’re gonna drive yourself nuts chasing every little vibration or rattle. I learnt early on to ignore them unless they get worse.
You fix one and it just means you can hear or feel another one.
It’s looking mint now, those wheels are perfect imo

It’s a pretty slow speed You have to maintain for the Mavic to follow, good way to get some great shots though.

If it's late xf ea/b/d seats will bolt in. Early xf nothing just bolts in.

We were watching a dude with a phantom 4 in the weekend, looks like so much fun. Those p4s are damned loud though. Way louder than a Mavic.

Mavic pro? I'm trying to justify buying one myself haha.
One thing i always see with watermarks, is people do as you have and put them down in a corner like that.
and the first part that gets cropped out if someone uses your pic for something.

Wheels make a car, and these are gonna look sick on the escort.
On on the mcm front, that episode made me contact barrel bros about my modenas. Hopefully some, progress soon on that front.

There the series 2 Concorde rims, series one had the cameltoe rims.

There is no fairlane Concorde, just the fairlane ghia Concorde, and yes, they got the xr6 motor.

Yep I’m using a super cheap suv cover on my pano.
Main thing with any cover is to take them off every few weeks and let the air get in there and dry out any moisture.

Shane did buy a Chestnut XE ESP and last i saw on ESPghia ages ago he was focused on that.
That was a few years ago now though.
I heard it got umm, dealt to by a disgruntled associate of Shane's and will probably never see daylight again.
Such a shame given the amount of work put into it.

I was just gonna drain it so it didn’t piss everywhere when I pull the drive shaft out. Might be easier to drain it that way haha
I don’t care
About the box, it will probably end up as scrap

Thanks I suspected that was the way. It's gonna be messy I think.

How do I drain the oil in my auto? I couldn't see any drain plugs when I was under there. Is it just a case of undoing the pan and letting it come out? Or can I undo one of the coolant lines and drain it that way?

I squirt it down the bores, dump a lot in the pan as well, take the rocker cover off and coat everything in there with machine oil, take oil filter off and coat all the crap in there and take dizzy out and squirt some in there as well. I have an engine that it's been apart for about 18 months now and not event the slightest sign of rust and it's not even packaged up or anything, just bare block and crank, pistons etc. all coated in machine oil and it's all good
The pic was taken on Moss St ?
Yep, moss st, obviously before autobahn became Napa.

Il have maybe two unwanted crossflows to get rid of haha...definitely one anyway. Mine wouldnt cost you anything like $100 either. (I thought that's what a decent runner was worth these days haha)

+1 for autosol.... In this age of 11ty billion different brands autosol is still the one to use.

If your near Ipswich I'll pop by and do it on Saturday. Gotta do the fire up of a customer engine down there on Saturday.
Thanks for the offer man but I just did it myself. Only used about 100mls of oil over all six but it’s turning over with a ratchet on the pulley easy enough.
