Non-pwr steering box, educate me
Defective replied to Defective's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Yeah the mechanic tried tightening it, it apparently improved it a bit but still not great. -
There's guys doing basic Barra looms for a few hundred bucks now, use original ecu, get all the security stuff turned off. Bolt in a ba pedal and you're laughing. Between Barra and Ls conversions car guys have never had it so good.
-
For 5k I'd just put a Barra in there.
-
Right tray looks heaps better too. There was a good build thread on aff ages ago where a guy did his. Might have been a b series, but same same.

Police van I think.
-
That's a good point, I've never seen a buckled one.
-
That's a bit surprising.

series 1 falcon to series 2 brake upgrade
Defective replied to steveheffo's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
The last thing you want is au traction control.... It's about as subtle as a brick in the face... -
Well known for breaking valve springs. Especially the 220 engines.

Lol il put up with stone chips and pay for a respray before I use a car bra lol. The reason I liked the film is because it's virtually invisible.

Hmm, I was thinking of getting that done to our Subaru so when we go camping the gravel roads don't wreck the bloody thing. Not so sure now...

Number Plate Info and Fees in your state
Defective replied to Mr Polson's topic in Body and Exterior
Pretty sure in qld if you buy a ppq plate for motorbike it's the same price as a car, despite only getting one plate.... -
Whole lot of hell no. They just look weird to me. Kinda like the big diameter snowflakes, they just don't look right.

I'm going to have a look at cortina wagon tomorrow, been years since I've owned one, what are the issues I need to look for? Owner has sent me pics of the rust, bottom of guards mainly, and top of a pillar is a bit ugly. Other than that it apparently only needs an exhaust and the front brakes needs new new bleed nipples. It's 4.1 manual, looks very stock in the photos I've seen, what's the average price for something like this?
-
Yeah, I've never been a big wagon fan, especially from the 80s. Loved early falcon wagons, until xa, then didn't like them until ef/El. If you makes you lot feel better, the vy is a nugget lol. Even came with the worlds most ineffectual blower...
-
Lol, I've heard that sentiment plenty today. Cortina did sell today, so I hope the buyer enjoys it. A lot of potential.
-
Ending up buying a cheap vy commodore at the auctions instead... Will probably flip for a quick small profit. Hopefully.

Great info here, thanks heaps guys. I'd lie it, but the rust work is worrying me a bit, I need a daily first and foremost, whereas I think this is more of a project.
-
It's unregoed, and he wants $1200. So with its rust issues, particularly the a pillar it needs to be under 1k I think. Didn't think these were this cheap lol.

Back home we would call it a mark 4, I think here they are Te or tf

I'd have been keen on a couple of sets if it had been the whole taillight, like the ones that used to be available. But this seems like a lot of fucking round with brittle old plastics.

Why no pics on car yet?

White line haven't made them for yonks now
