  1. im no guru on clevelands but if you only looking for 400hp fly, just use the standard 351 crank and rod combo, just get the refinished and arp bolts fitted to the rods, they do rev! as long as you have everything balanced.

Ive gone for 30thou os SRP pistons and balanced bottom end with all ARP fasteners. I have steered away from anything with PRO or COMP in the title!  ;)

  2. only a small cam hendrixhc? what power you aiming for anyway? should make for an awesome cruiser!

No real figure on mine Bud. Long as the bastard starts, runs and beats Hyundias off the line ill be happy!

  3. I just had my open chamber heads done up. I had them surfaced, oversized valves, valve seats relined, mild port and polish, fitted with Manley valves, crane seals, crane springs and crane retainers. I am going to run crane silver series roller rockers, pushrods and guideplates and a crane something or rather cam with and edlebrock performer manifold witha 600vac holley. If this helps you!

Cam specs if you are interested.

  4. Depends how much rusty is on there. If there is only light surface rust i would hit it with 80 grit on an orby to clean up the panel and scuff the surface, wash it with wax and grease remover and then hit it with etch primer. The etch primer has anti-corrosion properties and provides a seal to moisture, it also aids in paint adhesion to the metal surface.

  5. keep on top of the shop installers. Some of them hide their dodgyness under the install and you wont know till you get issues later down the track.

Amen to that. Twice i had my systems installed by professionals.

1st time they dropped my head unit and had patched the PCB inside and taped the top cover back on plus the crimp lugged and taped all the connections. All which failed within 4 weeks of the install.

2nd time they smacked my rim on my 3 day old WRX on a gutter, and took 3 months to replace it, and failed to tune the system correctly including leaving the 12watt factory speakers connected which caused massive distortion on anything over 1/8 volume.

Your better off doing your own install if you can and do it right.
