I thought all brake lines had double flares?
-
I cant say i had any trouble fitting the rotors up but i guess durability will be determined once i start driving her.

NIce set of polished stainless bolts look good there anyways!
-
I did read on Xfalcon a long time ago that someone had done that. Not sure about removing the spring afterwards. i would recon it would be more difficult cause you would have to remove the lower control arm to do it.

Dont say that i got for of them on my XE i havent used yet!

Hope the lord of the manor doesnt mind paint on the pavers!

Good luck Bud. Hope it works out this time round. No bigger arse fuck than having to redo work!

So i am looking at carbies and noticed you can buy the 650 double pumpers with or without chokes. If you dont have a choke are they a bastard to start or doesnt it make a difference? I noticed the ones without the chokes have a more contoured set of venturies which i assume is to increase air velocity. Can anyone enlighten me on the subject?

Dont think fuel economy is a concern! Bit of fun is the goal!

What sort of paint did you use? You say high gloss enamel? Excuse my ignorance is that acrylic auto paint? Most issues with bubbling and poor adhesion are a result of preparation eg not primed correctly, rubbed back correctly or surface contaminants like grease or silicants. Did you wash the surface with wax and grease remover first? What was the weather like? Did you spray with a gun or cans? Sorry for all the questions but the answer will be there somewehere!

Cheers Rob!

Thanks for all the comments and advise guys. Ill definitely be going for a 650DP, no choke and new out of the box. I Put evrything else no into this engine so might as well finish with a new carby. Was thinking one of these here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Holley-650-CFM-HP-Series-Four-Barrel-Street-Strip-Carburetor-D-Pumper-82651-/190734714429?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c68acc63d&_uhb=1 Do you have to use the kickdown linkage and what is an AOD Transmission?

I was talking to a mechanic mate yesterday and he suggested that i go 650 holley squarebore DP with no choke and mech secondaries. So recon that will be the right direction to go. Just wasnt sure about the no choke thing. Yes i do like the idea of giving it a boot full and being kicked in the arse to Trev!

Hey its only fuel, plenty to go round and we might as well burn it up while we still can!

Thanks Pete!

You could always use the circuit above and parallel an auto switch with the manual switch. This would allow them to run automatically and if you required them to run for any particular reason you could manually bypass.
-
Manual switch is fine but why bother? Using the auto switch you dont have to think about it and it will just by itself as required.
-
Good idea. I got some that i am going to polish up for my GXL. If i ever get one!
-
Nah your doing ok there mate. Was just gonna say where the wheel weights have made a mark you can use some 1500 wet and dry with some wd40 to clean the marks up and then hit them again with the polish. The marks will virtually disappear. Are you using a buff on a drill?
-
Are you going for a highly polished finish Bro?
-

Universal fasteners in Adelaide sell them. You can get alloy or stainless steel. I used M8 stainless ones cause they werent that expensive either. They called speed clips or fast action clips.
