If they are multi voltage they will be internally regulated. That means brightness will not be dependant on voltage.

Not sure bout the push rods but i have seen the roller rockers used. I guess if the length is the same and diameter then there wouldnt really be any issues.

You can by a primer filler which will do the prime and hi fill. You can use more thinners to thin it down as well. I got mine from crash supplies at stepney.

Bare metal. Etch. Prime. Bog. Smoothe. Prime. High fill. Wet sand 600. Base colour. Clear coat. Sounds simple. Steves right tho. But cold at the minute unless you got heaters.

Installing new steering box and pitman arm
hendrixhc replied to mcfly94's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
My guess would be to install the box with the pitman arm off and turn it full lock one way, then full lock the other way and count the number of turns. Then turn it back exactly half and line up the pitman arm with the wheels pointed straight ahead and the steering wheel in the correct position. Then off for a wheel alignment! -
My guess would be windscreen seal or rust hole under the windscreen on the lip area.

I thought you guys were sitting next to each in the same room!

Just thought id ask the question. The XC is a biatch to start when it is cold and being that i know fark all about lpg i have done a bit of research. It would appear that a priming circuit maybe be the answer. From what i can understand you hook a a gas solenoid to a press button which you hold down for a few seconds to fill the inlet manifold with gas. Is this correct and if so any tips on where to connect and how to connect?

will do guys. will have more of a play tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

Ones definately grounded with a green curly wire! They other shoots off into the black mess that is the engine. Where should it go? any ideas? I am going to degrease the motor this weekend and can trace its origin then.

Ok so i did a bit of horsing around with this stupid gas system tonight and came up with a result. Directly below the convertor is a solenoid with a thin hose that runs to the bas of the carby. I pulled this hose off the carby end and plugged it with a bolt. Tried cranking it and it fired up straight away. This is where it goes into the carby. Once it was running i let it warm up for a bit and then shut her off and reconnected the hose, tried cranking it again and it fired every time. Any thoughts on what this hose is?

I got the Vendetta V10 Hypers on my XE (refer my project thread round page 20 for a pic). They are 17 x7.5. They are not deep dished at all but the centers could be painted gold if you wanted gold. They were $190 about 18 months ago.

Sorry should point out this is an impco system with dedicated gas. I think the engine could do with a good service and tune, which will be first port of call very soon. I recon the next thing will be to piss the gas off and go back to fuel. Thanks for all the suggestions by the way. I was trying to start it when it was about 1 degree outside.

Well being the sort of guy that doesnt like to pay any one to do anything i been thinking of making up my own exhaust system. Has any body made their own and did they find it a pain in the arse or quite enjoyable? Was thinking about buying one of those 12 tonne tube benders and ripping into it. Looks easy enough. Going to start with the XC and then one for XE and maybe the tina down the track. Any comments or opinions! Go for it. And Grommet dont talk about fucking fairy cakes or bakeries!

Thanks Pete! Looks like a decent unit

Plans have changed for now. I just a quote for a twin 2 and 1/2" system fitted from extractors to tail for $600 cash. Cant beat this price just getting the components alone!

Thanks Pete!

Thanks Gav. I'll keep them in mind!

I guess the other question is how do you know what diameter pipes to run? Any rules of thumb?
-
I was actually looking on ebay and can buy the 2 tail pipe sections for $190. I was thinking of buying them and connecting it into the front sections i make.
-
Yeah i was looking on ebay and you can buy the bends - 3 x 90' and 3 by 45' for $70. Not to bad i guess. I was more looking for varied size bends like join in for a X pipe and the like. I was just watching some vids on Youtube and they were saying about filling the pip with compressed wet sand to stop it crushing.
