Fitting BA XR6T motor and T5 box into an 96 XG Outback Ute
hendrixhc replied to Outback Jack's topic in 4.0 OHC
I to am doing a motor upgrade to the XG in the near future but im going the Au engine and turbo kit with cam, springs and J3 chip. No real mods to do to fit it all up and not that expensive. Im sure the barra could go in but would need loom work and other mods. -

Disc rotors - Slotted, Grooved or Drilled. ??
hendrixhc replied to bear351c's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
I have RDA slotted and dimpled rotors on the front of the ute with RDA pads and another brand called Toro on the back. Both sets took a long time to bed in and quieten down and i still think after about 1500km they are a bit spongy for my liking. I was thinking of trying a different set of pads on the front at least. -

With the 5 bolt outlet flange its it acceptable to use one of these with a 2.5- 3" adapter welded in place to the dump pipe? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/T3-T3-T4-5-BOLT-TURBO-OUTLET-EXHAUST-DOWNPIPE-FLANGE-ADAPTER-MILD-STEEL-/161577536794?hash=item259ec58d1a:g:ZHMAAOSw1vlUyJSY The turbo i have has an internal waste gate. -

Ive noticed that most of the exhaust outlet flanges for the turbo are 63mm ( 2.5") diameter. Is a 2.5 inch sytem suitable for a turbo engine or should you go a 3"? -
Id go auto. I find my toploader clunky and annoying after a while.
