250 Xflow Water Pump Pulley - non clutch fan version

there still might be, but it's not well documented if so. i guess the difference here(Australia) up until now ish, was there were wrecking yards with old junk in them you'd just get an XC XD etc pulley from..(oldest thing in the wreckers these days is probably around 1990 unless there's someone specialising in certain models like i linked above) there might be reference on say VPW or other speed shops for aftermarket chrome pulleys etc, but you could be looking for a long time.. i would assume there'd be a "chrome pulley kit" for a falcon 6... it would likely say, use XC XD water pump or similar if so.

250 Xflow Water Pump Pulley - non clutch fan version

i vaguely My Dad modifying one, but i think he went the other way(bored the hole out bigger for the clutch hub) XE also had a viscous fan. the XD and prior are likely similar, and same for clevo might be similar(depending on offset) and possibly windsor. (i remember going through a bunch of pulleys trying some on a V8 once and some were too big (possibly off a 6cyl?) so there's probably heaps of sizes over the years(these could have been anything from XY to XD from my stash, i never marked them) what is your goal? no clutch fan? or to bolt up a fixed fan? for the price of a water pump you might be better off going back to the XE XF water pump and cutting the threads off for the fan and using the original pulley? you can try the 2 Aussie wreckers i would try that might have one otherwise. rusty ford wreckers (Melbourne Vic Au) http://www.rustyfordwreckers.com.au/ (also on facebook as Luke GT) or rusty ford wreckers and scotty XDF wreck operates from facebook if he's got it will be cheaper https://www.facebook.com/ScottySuttonsXDFwreck both would post to NZ i would expect,

    XG Bullbar

heaps of different designs, anything that was on an XD XE XF XG will pretty much bolt up where the irons bolt to the chassis rail and usually fit well around the lights etc still. google image link here for heaps. https://www.google.com/search?q=xf+falcon+bullbar&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjW_-jLycj4AhVg7XMBHU9zDREQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1366&bih=625&dpr=1
  4. i haven't seen it for over 5yrs but someone fitted an XE or XF sedan diff (coil setup with upper and lower control arms normally with watts link) and used the upper arms in XB GT style and welded on leaf spring pads onto the bottom of the axle tube and left the top arm mount fitted so it went into an XE or XF ute. just made up a bracket on the chassis rail that matched up similar to the sedan setup. from memory it was in this thread below or if not must have been another site.

250 crossflow ignition coil advise needed

do you have the original coil? try it on that if so. is it oil filled? or those plastic things (if it's the old type, they are reliable) if it's the modern ones, i've seen MANY (over 10) instances where they don't even work straight out of the box (i've had 2 personally in bosche brand failed immediately) points use a ballast resistor or resistor wire, electronic don't . can't see why the Goss one would say that.. only @Mr Polson if he's got time might be able to confirm what it should have if a replacement is used, i'd sooner fit a GT40 type oil filled coil even if it's second hand (i'm never sure if to use a GT40R or GT40 though, always forget that detail)

    Panko's Mk1 Escort (Round 2)

what's the fix for this? can they be tweaked with the oxy set or is it just better to buy a new(or used) 1600 set?

  8. @SPArKy_Dave is the go to for part number stuff.
  9. that's not heaps of km's i would expect you'd get another year out of them, keep an eye on tyre wear and if it gets any worse in clunks.
  10. how many km do you do per year? are the tyres wearing unevenly? if tyres aren't wearing and not many kms driven you could go 10yrs .. if tyres are wearing now and you do 50,000kms a year they probably need doing yesterday. how did you find out?

looks good, got some light truck trailer tyres also.. that van looks good for the money too.. stick another diff in it and sell it again for $1000 after a wash

i'm pretty sure only one pipe or 2 needed mods on those factory pipes into X series.. actually that was into XP that i'm thinking of.. might not be an issue on XF .. soon find out, exhaust mob with some fabrication skills could do it easy...(aka probably not midas etc)

this guy covered the differences in extractors/heads (into sigma.. which may be interesting for fitment to XA-XG also?) also ways to fix some of the issues with off the shelf pipes

i'd definitely get a heat sleeve (fitted a bit on My clutch cable and the accel cable of My crossflow) and i made a shield to clamp onto the extractors also for same reason (heat to starter motor also)

woo! so what did you get? assume a CRS bell housing for windsor to T5, is it cable or hydraulic? i heard the BA manual clutch master cyl/pedal looked possible to retrofit to other cars..(i haven't seen one)

if it's not a rust bucket, stick the 5 litre in it, and make an XH Sundowner . be MINT then buy another "parts car" so you can have another 5 projects.. ask @SPArKy_Dave if you aren't familiar.

    1992 5.0 into XF ute.

yeah My XF ute had 235s or 245s on the back, and when it rained wet roundabouts were the only time it would spin the wheels(ended up backwards only once, out of probably 1000 times.. think some diesel was on the road that day.. up the road from a servo) standard XF ute exhaust would be 2" probably .. most of the NC exhaust would fit if it's any good still

    1992 5.0 into XF ute.

what size exhaust is on the ute now, it's probably up to a stock 5 litre if it's 2 and 1/4 or 2.5" or bigger. singles sound good on V8s in My opinion. LSD in a ute with tyres as wide as you have is probably not needed, but in the wet it would get better traction for take off/drifting a roundabout etc. i'd consider just making the NC diff fit, then you can see if the worn LSD is good enough(probably is) and if you like the ratio. keep an eye out for a 3.45 LSD in the meantime. what kills open center(or weak LSDs) is single wheel burnouts (or getting bogged spinning one wheel) as it heats up the pins the spider gears run on and makes them snap when you least want it to.

    1992 5.0 into XF ute.

The XR8 EB ran 3.23 (XR6 had 3.45) bloke i worked with fitted the 3.45 to his XR8 and said it was much better all round. I have a mate with a 3.45 auto 5 litre in EF and it's still cruisy and goes ok depends what you are doing with it really. having the 5litre if it's got stock heads, they are not rocket ships, a GOOD mild crossflow would be on par or better performance wise. but the sound is what you want mainly. so I'd go 3.23 or 3.45 there's not much difference between the 2. in overdrive they'd be around 2000rpm at 100km in 5th for 3.23 and 2200 ish for 3.45 but you will get better take off with those two ratios than anything taller and if you used the auto it would probably be happier (manual might be happy with 3.08 ish)
