    E10 petrol

you definitely need to keep fuel in the tank and use it before it goes stale.. it might be the same story with e10 but i dont see the risk of corrosion worth it compared to the minimal extra in fuel costs per 1000km even if you used 98ron fuel.(probably using 10% petrol in that time at maximum)

    E10 petrol

I'd avoid 91 for knocking reasons,(well it shouldn't knock, but the ecu will pull timing out and therefore be gutless and probably use more fuel anyway) I'd have thought keeping fuel through the injectors would keep them alive longer, same for the fuel pump.. engines run so well on gas they used to recommend to run in on petrol so they wear\bed the rings in(don't wear on gas)

    E10 petrol

i almost never run on petrol with a gas car.. but when i went to Tassie i fixed the carby to make sure it would be reliable on petrol for a few reasons(gas is 90cents a litre, country servos close when its dark, double the range for peace of mind) i'd probably be more inclined to keep half a tank of petrol, run it down to near empty once in a while to add fresh fuel. depends if the injectors are already dirty etc also.. if it ran perfect on both fuels that may change the way i used petrol too(keep it running right is easier than saving $50 fuel wise then spending $200 to fix things

    E10 petrol

you'd save much more by filling up on cheap days than any fuel type i think. i worked with a super tight bloke at work(got his daily food down to $1 a day for an "experiment") he used to stop in at the servo for $5 of fuel daily until it was cheap, then fill up.. i wonder if he saved $500 a year for that.. maybe, but i couldnt do it.

sierra tan bench seat in panelvan?

My XE ute about 20yrs ago came with a mint sierra tan bench, i couldn't give it away at the time.. well i did, i helped fit it to an XF ute. i'd have kept it if it wasn't uncomfortable

    E10 petrol

is ethanol corrosive.. i wouldnt want it in a steel tank if so. especially if it gets worse with age(due to running LPG most of the time) take a look inside your fuel tank.. all the ones i looked at were rusted to shit at pick a part,(they punch a hole in them anyway, but i still bought one and had it repaired) in a sedan the fuel tanks are plastic, but vans and utes have metal tanks.. here's a pic of mine, not sure on the history of it but the guy i bought it off said it sat for a year unregistered, with stale fuel from who knows when also due to fuel pump wasn't working either.(most tanks i saw looked similar at the wreckers... especially the dual fuel ones) this tank had rusted through the swirl pot area shown, and also through the tank itself.. I'm considering running a fuel stabilizer if mine doesn't go through much petrol per month(on dual fuel, but may not get much use either)

    Xh van Option 20..?

the non cop ones are 5kmh increments. cops should have no excuse speeding, you'd assume they'd be accurate also... seeing its so dangerous doing 2kmh over, why don't normal cars have this accuracy. (moreso, why not better driver training like cops get....wonder if they are taught how to keep it within the speed limit)

i was having a squidgery didge on the facebook page you linked.. looks like he got it back before Ivys coupe issues began.. copied relavent stuff pasted below Phillip Lowe 29 July 2015 · Perth, WA · Well hi guys we got our tow truck back less a few items like gauges that were on the dash R/ camera and a front universal Thanks to all that passed this on from Impressive Restoration in Maddington

    Xh van Option 20..?

is that the plastic doover.. i thought it was water proofing it for antenna wire leaks(My XG has this if so)

thats one way, but someone had got the guage working with some electronics.. (i had it done 10yrs ago but cant remember what was done..the instrument tech moved and so have i since..)

Impco straight gas too lean at idle.

is the port on the throttle body plugged then, would assume so as its a big hose.. the issue might be an air leak.. is the converter a 225 CA or 225FB (usually there is a sticker on the side) the FB ones run rich at idle and are trimmed with the impco commander computer thingy.. not sure where i am going with this, but if you have an FB(feed back) it should be rich, and i'd be looking for an air leak somewhere or possible damage to the mixer

    Xh van Option 20..?

speedo had finer increments on earlier models, assume same for XH rough screw holes in the dash etc where cop stuff was mounted

Impco straight gas too lean at idle.

is the idle air control(IAC) valve got anything to do with it.. i thought on gas they cut the wire so it stays closed or something..

Electric fuel pump for XF ute

the tank is a direct fit(good luck finding a good one.. getting kind of rare now) as mentioned the sender is different. there has been a few ways of getting around this, i cant remember any of the top of My head. there is a member VDO who may be able to help.. name refers to gauge knowledge.. http://www.ozfalcon.com.au/index.php?/user/1149-vdo/ if you can search, there was some mention of a fix recently(this year i am pretty sure)

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

interesting, i'd say that pic looks like an XD XE booster with an XF master cyl(may need the spacer for that reason...not sure) not sure on the E series.. another thing to note is the XG XR6 still has the solid rear discs unlike the XE XF era vented rears

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

looks like we'd be interested in hearing about this spacer plate and XG XR booster..

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

Mark fitted a new one, (V8 XH) pretty sure its plastic, so not the XF style.

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

XG has the XF setup.. XH not so sure, XH had the Eseries suspension the V8 had a bigger booster because they had less vacuum than a 6cyl i thought

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

mine is 20years old(1996 XG XR6..) brakes look and feel the same as a plain XF to Me. that said, they could have been replaced in that time with standard parts.
  20. this is how i did mine.. was ages ago, probably did it that way because it was easiest at the time if i was doing it again i'd tap and put a bolt in the port i plugged.. could mount an ignition lead stay on it.

    Issues with EFi crossy

one of My later model utes had 120psi on all 6 cyls, ran perfect.. didnt use much oil but did lack some torque. My thoughts would still be electrical UNLESS, its wiped a cam lobe.. common for efi cams back in the day from what i had heard..even then, the fact its intermittent makes me believe its leads. cap etc

Cut out XE spare wheel well

that's a bit more than i was expecting, but i get the idea.. a panel beater suggested cutting say a 4" pipe and recessing it into the spare wheel well for more exhaust room(extra muffler) (would possibly get a space saver still in there as a spare) thanks for the pics

Cut out XE spare wheel well

would like to see pics of this, just for more space for mufflers in the back of an XE even on the one side beside the fuel tank

    Fibreglass X-Falcon panels

i'm half way through patching up a rough original tailgate..may consider contacting them if it doesn't work out. seen nissan xtrails with plastic mudguards.. fiberglass has to be as good.. they make boats out of it, probably room inside for some strengthening ribs

    Fibreglass X-Falcon panels

how would a ute tail gate outer skin go.. the new chinese tailgates are rubbish(i only weigh 100kg and they bend if i stand on one) wonder if replacing the dented metal outer with fibreglass would end up as strong, with less prone to damage
