    Xg ute spark plugs

Puts the spark a bit further into the combustion chamber, is about all I can tell. Probably helps to obtain a more complete combustion. Ford also spec those plugs for the later OHC engines - with the broadband manifold, when they're running LPG.

    Xg ute spark plugs

Run the engine, then remove them while the head is still hot. The temperature expansion should help you. Log manifold OHC's need the long electrode spark plugs, to run at their best.

    XGF REAR RIGHT BUMPER

Should be pretty easy to repair that fibreglass. Resin kits are pretty cheap from memory.
  9. So for RWC, I fitted some new Rare Spares outer tie rod end boots to the XE. I bought a set of 4, for about $35.00, but the original Ford inner boots were still perfect. I also fitted a swaybar link/rubber kit from Dennis Carpenter repro Mustang parts. This is less than 1,500km later. No-wonder the front Right was clunking away like an old woman. (no offence to old women) I dunno about you guys, but I expected better mileage from the parts......

    XA-XF vs XG Steering Box

My wagons have a decent turning circle. The XF ute I've driven, seemed much worse. My XG's seem to have decent turning circles. All power steering. Reco'ing a power steering box is pretty straightforward. Have a go.

    Snowflake rims - Identification.

I think they're very close to zero offset, so maybe 3.5' backspace? It'd be easy to measure them.

  13. Not many people dive this deep, for whatever reason... (mechanics included) Over the last few years, I dug into the theory and operation of braking systems, any spare chance I had - chasing solutions to problems with warpage, shuddering, brake feel, responsiveness and more. So far, I've achieved some excellent results from investigating, testing and tuning. Especially with e-series and b-series. Here's an article, which explains another reason among others, to service calipers. http://www.ucx.com/documents/squareseal.pdf In the case of standard b-series and Territories - their brake issues can more often than not, be traced to the phenolic caliper pistons, made from a composite material, rather than steel. Phenolic pistons are porous, absorbing brake fluid over time, ultimately causing piston retraction issues.

    HID H3c globes

HID's should only ever be used behind Projector lenses. That way, the beam cutoff is sharp, avoiding light scatter.

Ford xg ute rear bumper color

Bumperette colour is either Thunder Grey L6 (EF era) or Thunder Grey 0036 (EA-ED era), Storm Grey 0015 EA-ED era), or remote possibility of AeroMax Grey 0001. (EF GLi side bumper strips)

Ford xg ute rear bumper color

XG rear bumperettes are painted from factory. They're a black moulded rubber, under the grey paint. Unlike the side moulding strips, which are a natural grey rubber material.

    Non-pwr steering box, educate me

Be surprised how little is done, to 'remanufacture' them. Usually just sift through their box of steering parts to find the least worn components bolt everything together - chuck a seal kit through it, bit of black paint, and she's out the door. My advice would be to either re-kit your own steering box, or spend some time adjusting it. X-series boxes need adjusting every 50-100,000km or so.

    Non-pwr steering box, educate me

Not much to the non-power steering boxes. They're pretty easy to adjust, but time consuming to get right. Depends where the wear is - ie, definitely in the box, or steering column rag joint, or the pitman arm, or idler arm, or tierod ends etc. Or a combination of the above things. Or the mechanic has forgotten how these things steer from factory.

    Xh van Option 20..?

Yeah that's the other thing - the user can calibrate the EF/EL/XH speedo's in diagnostic mode, on the police clusters. Sometimes, the interior light was also disabled on police vehicles. http://www.fordmods.com/ford-technical-document-instrument-diagnostics-d12 http://www.fordmods.com/ford-4l-and-6-cylinder-f1/ef-el-dash-diagnostic-mode-t968.html

    Nyogel

Sounds like a dielectric grease - to promote conductivity - like used on some spark plug leads ends. I find it hard to believe that'd be the issue though. More like a failing crank angle sensor or similar.

    Xh van Option 20..?

usually a metal shield around the plug. They all seem to have that plastic cover thingy.
