Booooo !!!! Get that chick out the way...........that Clevo is trouser tightening stuff.
-
Got a windage sump? Clevo's starve for oil at the best of times, but, worse when going round corners. Sounds like a good combo. I run 2,500 stally and 3.55 LSD, and it's tons o' fun. :D
-
Same in SA. Cant put older engine in newer car......eg: clevo in EL. (Doesn't mean it don't fit, or hasn't been done !)
-
Yep, what Rev said. Replace the hose if you like, but get LPG hose only ! (Very important) SILASTIC...is Satan's cum.
-
James, just machine/file/grind some off the bottom of that big arse bracket, holding the return springs. Should lower the springs toward the manifold.
-
Yep. Can get 'em from Spoont Auto parts, I reckon.......
-
Just remember to put it on the right way. Nothing to stop it from swivelling around, if you fit the PCV pipe etc... Stuck throttle...........not good. Used to run mine with a 2 inch paper element. No dramas.

Anyone here fitted an EFI 302w into an XB? Any issues?

Why, Rev. Whats different?? Thought the old XB 5/16" lines would have been enough. Just interested....... -

Yep, that's it.! Put the steel one in the easiest position to get at. Will last years and years with regular coolant changes. It's kinda like having termites in your yard, so you leave a nice pine log down by the back fence, so they eat that and not your house. -

Thom, how about a 90* dizzy, from a Clevo with a blower.?? Know the one I mean??
-
Cheers, mate. Didn't know they still made them.... Those Superlites would look cool on the old XA. D'oh.!

Hi Admin, Under "Technical" section, is there a page on Wheels and tyres?? I was going to ask if anyone had redrilled or multi drilled any rims. Found a pair of 16x10 Performance Challengers (Globes) on Ebay for a Torana, wondered if they could be modified to Ford stud pattern. Couldn't work out where to post. Am I missing it? Bear.

??? Partially blocked with what??? A good oil filter should have a bypass, so the engine wont starve.
-
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the new hoses these days have a woven mesh inside the rubber, for strength. But, if you get P/S fluid or oil on it, it will go soft. When its hot, pop the bonnet, and give it a good rev, you'll see the hose collapse.
-
Bottom hoses used to run a spring in them, to stop them collapsing. They still do that?? Also, your ignition timing can make the engine run hot. Stick a timing light on her as well.
-
Yeah, about that. 150mm (6 inches). Anyone who manufactures tailshafts, should be able to cut and shut the tailshaft, and rebalance it. Try Hardy Spicer or similar. I got one made for my XB ute, thicker walled tubing and beefier uni-joints, 'cos I have a heavy right boot....

how to stiffen rear wagon suspension

All good, mate. Just suggestions. Swap them over with Gerg's, if ya can get them delivered. -
how to stiffen rear wagon suspension
bear351c replied to unfamilia's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Ute/wagon/fairlane/LTD......all share the same wheel base. If you could find ute leaves, they will stiffen up the ride a bit. Alternatively, get yours heated and reset. Any suspension place or springworks factory can lower, raise, add or remove and still keep the same ride height. That would be my choice, tell them what you need it for, how high you want it etc, etc, all comes down to how much folding stuff you got. -
Good point Dan. You sure about the XR8 diff? Did it come out of a V8 ute or wagon with leaf springs?

Does the cable run from the mechanical cam on the carby, or from a vacuum diaphragm.? The Kickdown can be set up to your driving style. How hard you press the throttle, or how much vacuum the engine pulls.
-
Pretty sure that cable is rooted...those two bits should be joined together, from memory. (but, I drink a lot....) Even if they're not, they should be lined up, parallel, so the cable doesn't bind on the side of the outer sheath.

Cool thread. Cheers.
