Stick one end of a rag in the hole when you take the pump off, and leave the other end hanging down low. Should syphon the water out while you down a coldie.

The weep hole is there to tell you that the machanical seal inside is FOOKED.! If water is coming out, your WP is cactus....

Errrrr................no. Simply put, Vehicle Inspection Centre will not allow an older engine in a newer body.

In SA, you WONT pass a Clevo in an E series. (without engineering). Simply put, Vehicle Inspection Centre will not allow an older engine in a newer body. You can put a Barra donk, in an XA though...... Stoopid fookin granny state, full of tree hugging do-gooders, with nuffin better to do, buch of puke breath, puss lickin' mutha ................. .......Ooooooh look, a squirrel.

YES.....WE DO ! ZK/ZJ, XD/XE, (and XA/B/C ZC/D XR/T XW/Y etc), all came out with a V8 as an option. Use one of them, and fit a ZL front clip. Jobs done ! Chassis rails, coil springs, brake rotors etc etc all designed to cope with a V8. Otherwise..........engineers slip. (and $$$$$)

Pretty sure you can buy both gaskets from Autopro/Repco. Silastic the threads and the shafts of the bolts.

Never a truer word spoken. ^ ^ ^

Make allowance for the cork snakes either end, too. They're pretty thick.

4V's have the same amount of material above and below the inlet port. 2V's have 2x as much at the top.

First, find a cat...........never mind. Silicon spray would be easiest. Could use Lithium spray. I use graphite.
-
Could TIG a 'ring' of weld around each port, and get machined.....would require delicate torquing up. Maybe a purpose built copper gasket, the right thickness.

xd falcon external trans cooler?
bear351c replied to unfamilia's topic in Transmission and Differential
Yeah, me too... Simple, mate. One in, one out, lots of fresh air. Jobs done. Use Trans cooler hose, NOT fuel line. Doesn't have to be a Ford unit, the Magna one should do fine. ...and I always run 2 hose clamps, on each connection. Cos I'm strange, like that. -
Brake noise after parked
bear351c replied to adrianphu123's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
What kind of vehicle?? Does it run internal handbrake shoes? I've seen brand new DBA rotors have runout, straight out the box. Do you rear pads have anti rattle springs? Try driving in reverse, and pull the handbrake on, should push the brakes back into line. -

Thats the correct way to plumb up a trans cooler. -
Rough or hunting idle is probably a vacuum leak. Check carby base gasket and manifold gasket. Spray a little carb cleaner or Aerostart around the mating surfaces, if idle goes up, there ya have it. One and half to two turns out is good start for a new carb.

Could be accelerator pump diaphragm.?? Did ya get another in the kit?

A well seasoned head, say 150,000 kays of driving, will convert to LPG no probs. Its just if you overhaul the heads, you cut through the 'hard face' of the valve seat, exposing the soft castiron. Hence the old "running in" scenario we used to have with cast iron rings and such. Heat and pressure pounding on the valve seat, give it a hard face that is almost equivalent to the Stellite seats they install on Gas engines. Alloy heads already have Stellite valve seats installed, and Bronze valve guides, to handle ULP. You will need these IF you o/haul your iron heads. Flashlube is just there to add lube to the valve guides and seats. Your exhaust valves will glow red hot on LPG, around 850*C, and its bone dry.
