    XA,XB,XC B45 Simmons offset sizes?

Thanks, mate. Just looking for nice deep dish on the back, driveable on the front. 265 or so on the rear tyre, and 215-225 on the fronts. Daily driver, no track work, etc..... (PM sent to Ants.)
  2. Some have inner circlip, some outer, different cup sizes, etc......
  3. Sedans are the same. All Fairlanes/LTD's/Utes are made on the stationwagon platform. (Reckon it's more like 150mm XKXF) Best bet with yokes is to call Auto parts shop and ask for sizes of Uni joints. Anyone know for sure?

    XA,XB,XC B45 Simmons offset sizes?

Thanks guys, perhaps my original post was misleading. I dont want this offset, but, want to know which offset will fit on my XA sedan. So, I can go searching for some Simmons inner and outer rings. Will be keeping the B45 centres.

    Thermoquad tuning

Original part was a leather bucket or cup, and there is a check valve (one way valve) below that. ( I think?) If you can, replace the enitre pump plunger and bucket with a newie, and the check valve with a brass jobbie. Should all be available online/carb shop.

Look down the throat, give the throttle a flick, should see fuel coming out of the squirters.

    Thermoquad tuning

Could be your accelerator pump plunger. Gives it a quick squirt from idle. If she's a stocker, try retarding back to 6 degrees. Trust the vac gauge, rather than the balancer marks. Throttle return spring is wrapped around the shaft, inside the carby, so kinda hard to adjust. Got any vacuum leaks? Can get a manual choke fitted, if ya like.

    Clevo sump removal in-chassis

Your explanation was better............ Glad to hear it's all good. Had FelPro gaskets for years, no drama's, if you're careful with them. And yeah, had to trim the rubber half moons, too. I reckon they're alright on the day they're made, but, 2 or 3 years in a flat pack, on the back shelf of an Auto parts store, with shit piled up on top............
  14. If i remember rightly, the old BW diff housings had to be heated up, or bent to swap gear sets. Been a while, and I drink a lot. Easier to swap for the XR6 diff, I reckon. Or buy a 9 inch.............

  16. Hi Ford freaks, anyone tell me where the engine number is on the Pre X block? Its a '72 XA Fairmont. Cheers, Bear.

    Clevo sump removal in-chassis

Oil enters the lifter through tiny holes in the body of the lifter, obviously it must come out somewhere, too. Usually, it goes through the pushrod and up to valve/rocker gear. "Pumped up" simply means that the oil is not getting in/out fast enough, and the lifter becomes "solid".

    302c wont kick into life

Not 100% sure, reckon mine was into a small brass port, sticking out the base of the carby. So, full vacuum but through a small orifice.

    302c wont kick into life

Yep, this.... (If vacuum advance hits thermo housing.) Then make sure No.1 lines up with lead, rotor, induction ring, balancer on 6-8 degrees.
