Anyway i took her for a spin an she was bogging down on take off so turned the screw in once & made no difference so turned it out twice & got it much better then turned it back a qtr more & she feels really good now not hesitating & bogging down on takeoff. So what have i learnt today? Dont be a fkn idiot & go out spending money on things first before fully checking everthing first & have a break & start fresh the nxt day with a clear head haha

He said he is restoring it, not sure if he is modifying it or not but id be happy with it either way. He sent me these 2 pics before when i sent him a pic of the progress i had made with the FC wheels i bought off him
I’ve had too many FCs and FDs to put a number on them but I don’t think there has been a time in the last 20-25 years that I haven’t at least had one. I’ll always have one. They are just way too cool not to! Especially with those tail lights.
hey that’s cool, good to know he’s restoring it! Is he doing anything to do it or keeping it stock?

I had a blue with some guy a few months ago over these taillights i turned right & did a left hand turn into the sunshine market place carpark indicated ofcourse then a guy that was behind me tooted his horn at me then i gave him the finger he saw this then took the next turn into the carpark too, & i saw this & knew exactly what was gonna happen, before he could get out of his 4x4 i had already put my car in park & lept out & said what ur problem!!, he goes fkn blah blah i couldn't see your indicators cos ya bloody tinted em too dark i go thats how they came from factory in this model then he goes ohhhhh thats bullshit that bloody unroadworthy & got back in his car & left

Just about to swap parts over & stuck a fine blade screw driver on my screw which i did yesterday but didn't seem to do anything which is what made me think i had lost it & now the screw is back again hahahahahahahahahaha i must have been having a shit day yesterday. What a waste of bloody time money & effort. Oh well ill keep this other thermoquad as a spare or maybe sell it later on

Its a piston that sits next to the hole where the thread goes that hold the air cleaner lid on. It has a little metal cover tthat is held in with a tiny flat head screw, anyway just took the car for a spin & ive definitely fucked it cos it wont open the secondaries & when you try off the trottle on the carb the piston tries to go up through that little metal cover so im guessing it should be sitting (the piston) abit lower than the cover so when you get full throttle the piston just touches the cover. Any ideas how to fix this now?

Anyone know where i can get a thermoquad step up piston screw for my carb?, i think i lost my one today, also is it necessary to have one fitted?

I'd prefer to keep them polished Bear. I have already stripped them with paint stripper Dean 2 pressure pack cans & 1 & a half tins later haha, they were off a cartier so still had the champagne paint in the slots which was a prick to get off. They painted them up really well from the factory thats forsure. Ive got some sandpaper 320 up to 2000 so will give that a go on the worst of the 5 wheels & see how i got then polish them with a polishing ball attachment & by hand. I think it will be too expensive to get professionally & i dont mind putting in a bit of effort myself.

Oh no the one in there now is the original type, the Laser ones are way too small in diameter which makes sense now seeing as the laser & LTD wheel have the same design but the laser wheel is 13" & has a smaller bore & only 4 holes for the wheel nuts.

Wheels arrived yesterday & unfortunately the laser centrecaps are way too small so a little money wasted but oh well, i took a gamble & it didnt pay off so im on the look out for 3 more FC centrecaps cos the set came with 1

Yeah i go past the cops all the time, i do get nervous though, this Monday i went down a back st & did a detour to avoid a speed camera on duke st & ballarat rd in Braybrook (which i got done for in the past) & turned left & by the time i got nxt to the shell servo i noticed a silver vf in my rear view fly up behind me, im thinking wtf is this, turned left onto Ballarat rd & the vf turned too....HWP. The lights at Ballarat rd & duke st were red & i know the RH turning lane onto duke st always goes first so got in that lane, the cop stayed in the far left lane & continued on down Ballarat rd toward Maidstone
