  1. Top work sharing those flow numbers mate.

How was the air speed on the stock 2vs and at what lift did you find the air flow gets to turbulant.

When you get around to working your magic on the 2vs are you chasing cfm or alot more air speed through the port.

  2. say you have an aftermarket air filter, would a bigger diameter one make much difference over a smaller diameter one? assuming they are the same height

should do. More surface area of filter to draw through should mean less restriction.

Thats my theory anyway. Bigger is always better with air filters.

  3. Not really an upgrade but check the carby is opening fully. Was tinkering with my xf today and the cable is that stretched it was barely opening the secondries. Adjusted it as much as I could and still won't give full throttel. Time for a new one.

  4. Any carby manifold will bolt on. Electronic dizzy to suit like a msd will drop straight in but make sure you have the right gear on it to suit the roller cam. If your using all the factory front ancillaries you need the efi timing cover. You can change to the early cover but will need the early style water pump and brackets to suit alt and power steer pump and pulleys to suit. I think you can run the btr. Someone had some info about how to do it by using the eb auto computer from memory. Might have been on another forum. Aod would be a costly exercise. What car are you putting the motor in. There was a post recently about fitting a efi 5.0 to an xf and some talk of extractors to suit gt40ps.

  5. I agree on the t5 or even a single rail. Manual box makes a big difference. Might not be to budget friendly but you can find them for the right price.

Diff ratio change will make it get up and go quicker aswell. Anything has got to be better than 2.77s and e series falcs for wrecking are everywhere. Should be able to find a diff for a budget friendly price.

  6. Be very interested to see how they turn out with clean up. Looking forward to seeing the numbers on the stock heads aswell.

Be great to see some pics of how you go about cleaning up the 2vs when you get around to them.

  7. Cheers for the feedback guys. Does the pump make a lot of difference to running temps. I've noticed the cover plate blocks the bypass hole in the std clevo timing cover and am wondering if removing the bypass restrictor under the thermostat is a good idea or not as the electric pump dosent use it.

  8. Gday all. When I started this th read it was to get an idea of what peoples thoughts on this were. I've always been curious about doing it but was never sold on the idea. XPTcrossy link to the megajolt would probally be the best option for spark control. At the end of the day it was just an idea. I could see the cost of a conversion like this getting up pretty quickly and if I was going to play with a six again id throw the money into one of my trusty tractor motors. Until l then i will stick to my clevos and weezors. Cheers for every ones input

  9. Cheers for all the replies guys. I've been wondering about this for sometime now and thought someone out there may have attempted this. The motors are so cheap but the efi side of it is way to much messing around for me. I have seen spark control computers for the ignition side of it and was also thinking maybe v6 commy computer to control spark. The you tube clip nzxd put up for us is proof anything is possible. 590hp carbd coyote with LOCKED CAMS is sick. Basicly I'm thinking std motor 465 holley extractors, someway to control spark, t5, 3.45 lsd equals fun......

  10. Just did the clutch in my xf t5 and the pedal sits about an inch above the brake. I can adjust mine right up but it works fine at the height i have it now. There not the best setup but they do the job. Mine is working spot on now. Was your car already a manual. Have you checked your pedal box. Mine was cracked and only just hanging on when i got it. Had the pedal adjusted right up and still wouldnt disengage propally. Also how good is your cable. Mine was worn and jamming up and didnt help the problem. Maybe cracked firewall.
