Wheel silver sounds about right dave! Lol And yeah I'll be clearing over the top. I'll have looky in the paint shop tomorrow then.
-
Yeah the silver I've got (rattle can) is the bright killrust gal looking type and would look shit. What I want actually looks like the silver engine enamel I've got on my rocker covers. But I haven't got enough of that left for four wheels.

If you get an engineers you've got some sort of guarantee and paper work that its legal. Then when you get pulled over (and you will being on you're p's) you can wave it in their face and then they'll dick you for something else:D

Where to buy a repro BOSCH elec dizzy, for a 351c blue block?
XES replied to RAWDEAL's topic in Cleveland
I bought a different copy and the vacuum advance diaphragm shit its self then the ignition module shit as well. I replaced both with the parts off a 250 dissy and all was good again. I suppose you get what you pay for. If you buy a copy dont expect it to last for ever. I bought it cos I needed a dissy and didn't have the cash for a brand name one. It works fine now. Especially with the eagle 10.5mm leads on it and a gt40 coil. -
Will X series calipers fit an E series diff?
XES replied to XES's topic in Transmission and Differential
Looks I don't really car about Clint. Your not going to see them behind the snowies anyway. As long as they work i'll be happy. I don't use the handbrake anyway. The handbrakes in x series are all shite!! -
Will X series calipers fit an E series diff?
XES replied to XES's topic in Transmission and Differential
The bloke im looking at getting the diff off may have a set there apparently. So I'll sell my braided hoses and make another set to suit the new diff I guess. Seems to be the way to go for the least hassles. Do e series brakes give better performance? Or not to noticeable because its the rear? -

Is that behind a 250? Mines a 302 but it should help a lot. -
Will X series calipers fit an E series diff?
XES replied to XES's topic in Transmission and Differential
Fittings aren't a prob for me clint:D 3/8 X 24 male to 10 X 1 female adaptors are something I've made sure we have in stock at work. Wider bushes is something else I hadn't thought of thanks. -
Will X series calipers fit an E series diff?
XES replied to XES's topic in Transmission and Differential
Like I said Rev I've got a set of braided hoses for and xe diff. I'd like to use these if I can. I'm hearing you about it being easier but I don't mind a bit of work. If need be I'll do that and make a new set of braided hoses for those calipers and sell my other set.. I've never had an e series diff to look at before so I wasn't sure of what the difference are. -

So its no to hard to do then. I'm sure i'll be able to get it sorted then. Thanks Clint. I've got rotors and all for the x series. Just haven't fitted it to the car. The one I have is a 2.77 lsd but i'm looking at a 3.27 to try and get a bit more pick up. I'm tipping that I'll need a tail shaft too now that I think about it. -
Yep great info there rob. This was how I was trying to read what my motor wss doing before I put the wideband in. Old school way to do it but it works if you know how an do it properly. Wideband is the shiz tho. Once that was in I havent looked back.

I'm working this morning Dave but I might be able to come up after work in the van. Ill see what happens and let you know.

Suppose this is in the right section... lol Was wondering if anyone had tried swapping the old wiper motor out of an x series for something newer. Mine in the xe is slow as compared to the one in my ba and in my work van. Fast in it is the same as slow in the others. Was just curious whether or not an e series maybe could be made to fit. All the rain here in vic at the minute has me thinking about it...
