SPECO-831385R. Autobarn or Bursons should have them. That is for alloy efi cover but wouldnt think be anything different using on a tin one.

    PURGE LINE FROM CANISTER

Yeah that on on the left (very first one) are blocked off for 6 cylinder. On v8 it runs to the fuel bowl but that is a carter thermo quad. As for the middle it runs from the pvc to a three way valve. One line to canister, one to PVC and one to PVS in water oulet. Not sure how all works but pretty sure when engine runs the intake manifold drawing thru PVS acts as a vacuum thru canister to draw fumes from tank and fuel bowl and drawing air thru charcoal from atmosphere pipe to clean charcoal. When engine is shut off fumes are store in charcoal.

    PURGE LINE FROM CANISTER

What I posted is from a Ford XE v8. The actual ford manual details same thing. The canister is the same for both v8 and 6 cylinder. Other than that I am not sure about other models

    PURGE LINE FROM CANISTER

Which particularly hose are you talking about on the canister? Three at the top on factory canister are 1. PVC 2. Carburettor bowl 3. Fuel Tank One at bottom of canister is thread bottom of firewall where there are holes to atmosphere. I have a picture but cant post also shows vacuum valve between PVC and canister. Hope it helps

Ford xg ute rear bumper color

What type of paint did they use in factory?

Ford xg ute rear bumper color

Get time I go in and have a look see the color is not to dark as the bumpers are light grey and match the side trims too. My impression of charcoal is a very dark grey. Thanks though I will check it out

Impco straight gas too lean at idle.

Thats all good then problem solved. Not that this the problem you had but I reckon, too many bolts and mating surfaces with X-series efi intake runners. Makes you wonder they dont leak more? I am convince they do after 30 something years of being taking off and on when not torqued right.

Did you solve the problem with gas system?

    DIFF QUESTION ?

Someone on here could probably explain better than I could but thats my understanding of single spinners

    DIFF QUESTION ?

Yes till wheels either goes around corner or one wheel looses traction then power will transfer to a sense to that wheel and less to the other. Hope that makes sense?

If not sure if you have a XE or XF. The XE has two small ports that two vacuum hoses on TB at rocker cover side connect to, a red and green. One is for vacuum advance and the other is for control of EGR. The XF TB dont have these. The XE TB would be drawing air at Idle.

Dont run fresh air port to TB otherwise gas will be drawn into engine. Then it would get interesting

Impco straight gas too lean at idle.

Also the bottom port on the throttle body for the fresh into engine should be blocked off at the TB and the fresh air ran through either filter housing or port on the mixer

Is it a xe throttle body or a xf? Cause they are different. As what I can see but hard from the photo you have pipe from throttle at top going directly to plenum chamber which would constantly draw air even with butterfly closed so would may cause lean out. Normally that for a XE throttle body it ran through a bi-metal valve that would open and close with engine temp for cold start and hot when the efi system is running not needed I think for straight gas. I am pretty sure I have seen a members car with them two ports blocked.

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

I reckon your right about v8 booster. I think all 6 cylinders are the same from xf-xg and e-series regardless xr or not. Not sure about xh never own one probably think it would be the same as it shares the same fire wall? But aren't the ef-el different again made from plastic?

XD vs XF vs XG Brakes

XR8 got the dual diaphragm. Not sure about the XR6. But they were all E-series. EB/ED models with two different sizes 230 mm and 200mm. Not sure which is which As with the XG XR6 not sure but couldn't think it be hard to put an XR8 version in they are all metal but may be different foot pedal arrangement position.

    EB lsd to XF.

If your talking about the hard line on the body to the flex line on diff? You can get them from ABS for couple of dollars. They are imperial female insert and metric outside I think to fit. I needed it for my car when I swapped diffs over. Anything else you need they should help

    THOR

Damn!! Between You and Slydog make it hard to give up on these old tech engines and throw them away. After reading these posts I keep finding myself not only keeping one of these going but seem to be collecting parts for them.
  20. Pretty sure he said that it is lpg with a msd ignition. Could be leaning out at open throttle or a vacuum leak. What converter does it run and has ever been serviced or cleaned?

    XG Overheating

When refill the coolant did you take out the bleeder in the thermostat cover to expel the air. Its an allen key screw into the housing. This proper way to fill coolant in these engines and expel all the air otherwise it will trap air.

    XG Overheating

They dont work that way with this type of cooling system. Pull the radiator out and get it flushed and checked, They are notorious for crap between the rad and air con. Sounds like a head gasket leaking out through the exhaust manifold. As revhead said they are easy to replace.

    4.9 side badge measurement

No worries. Just to add to the 41.6mm measurement. From crease to the bottom of the lettering too. Specs are from factory book too.

    4.9 side badge measurement

154mm from edge of quarter panel at doorend to centre of badge and 41.6mm measured from bottom of quarter panel above moulding where panel folds/creases in but the top of the fold. If that makes sense. Trial with blue tack etc first to make sure you get it right and looks right for you.

Spac instrument cluster into GL help please

Some oil pressure gauges on x-flow require the brass extension from block to oil pressure sender to work.
