I forgot all about this till I got the head done recently which I have sat to the side for use with another block that I start next year. But some info about this head from two engine builders I spoke to. Both builders said that the cylinder head was machined that way to lower compression particular for turbo application. Both asked did the cylinder head come from a turbo xflow which it didn’t. They thought it unusual it to be done for normal application particular being c2 which is common and that there are type of cylinder heads available at the time if it was result of pinging due to head design.The work done to head was very good to the point it seems cast that way. One builder has only ever seen one head like that on a turbo the other said he never worked on one but heard of cylinder heads like it. Any truth in it-who knows. Unless the actual person who did the work is found for the reason for it done I will never know.Got a number of different cylinder heads and this one has a different story to it. My belief is that it was to prevent pinging which were prone in unleaded XF and someone found it was good to use for turbo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

White wire 8.2v to speedo transducer (input) - violet or blue is speedo signal to dash ( output) and black is earth. Hope makes sense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Box not from a mustang? Cause bell housing would be different for their sixes than the Aussie? Might explain converter maybe. Never heard of a ring gear weld to converter myself but someone else with more knowledge would know Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Interesting plan. Personally I think header design is important with the effort and money put into a motor to get more out of it.

Thoughts or plans on headers and exhaust pipe work.

Yeah I thought that due to it having a camber on the guide. I have a C2 head with ford ef valve seals but that was recoed for them seals as well. But it seems from my gathering xflow bits- leaded heads were umbrella and unleaded late model heads came with e-series seals. As valves between them are 11/32 (8.7mm) stem width. Thanks for info.

Can you replace umbrella valve stem seals on a alloy xflow unmarked cylinder head (xd/xe) with neoprene valve stem seals used on e-series heads? Or do the guides need replacing or machining to hold on?

Pretty sure Bronco came out with the c4 auto (or maybe its c6) with transfer case attached for 4wd. I could be wrong, but if not you can get aftermarket bellhousings for the 4.0 to c4. As to a btr with transfer case, I have no idea if you can but worth a look though

I dont think you will know till you go up and have a look in the flesh then you can decide on motor.

Reciepts for work. If the Bloke is fair dinkum he should be able to take rocker cover off which you could ask cause not like he is driving around with engine in car now. I know if i was selling a motor I would be taking off cover for a buyer Like with any motor its a gamble on any good or not

Anyways- Just to finish off thread. Nut/socket size is 1-1/8 inch. If metric 27 mm - 28 mm.

Anyone know the size of the locking nut for the front spindle for wheel bearing/hub for XE/F. Cheers

I measure it up tomorrow. Just thought by off chance someone would know. Save me pull the wheel etc off. I would presume XG be the same as XE/F.

I got of hold of a NC fairlane lsd diff. But it has the abs axles and sensor plate minus hardware and calipers though. Is there any issues in using a abs diff and putting calipers and rotors from a non abs from a e-series?

Yes the tone wheel is on the axle. As far as i can see from the DBA catalogue they are all the same between falcon and fairlane except front are different from ABS and non ABS. I just wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with a abs diff before and any different input with them. Thank you for help
