Under bonnet superchargers: has anyone done one? Im talking on a carb 250. Ive heard about these castlemaine rod shop bolt on sc kits...but cant find any reviews from anyone whos used them... What is required to set up an under bonnet sc? Intercoolers? A lot of mods? Do you need a special carby? Im not planning on supercharging at this stage, just trying to arm myself with some information. Cheers!

hahaha that is monstrous! what an awesome looking setup! wouldnt quite fit under the bonnet tho...haha

thats some awesome info thanks for that! so did all your setups fit under the bonnet? i'm keen to see the pics and video!

When you take the dash pad out of an XF falcon, underneath it on the glovebox side there is a black plastic chamber thats kind of bubbly...sorta looks like a small version of a coolant reservoir on the later model falcons. It also has a vacuum line running into it. What is it and what does it do? Just curious thats all. Cheers!
-
ok no worries. cheers for that!
-
yeah thats probably it. so, being a vacuum tank, if you disconnect it then reconnect it do you have to...er...anti pressurize it again?

Im getting pretty desperate here.. On the heater box in an XF there is a multi vacuum line plug. When pulling my car apart 3 of the vacuum lines came out of this plug and now I need to figure out where they go. I have two BLACK vacuum lines that go into the engine bay, one of them connects into a T piece off the manifold, the other one is blanked off. I need to know where these ones fit in the plug. I have drawn a diagram to help explain. This is the colour of the vacuum lines in the plug on the heater controls side. The holes with question marks are where I need to fit the BLACK vacuum lines coming out of the engine bay. If they were colour coded in the engine bay this would make it a lot easier. If anyone could help me that would be fantastic. If this diagram does not make sense please ask for more info and i'll do my best to explain. Cheers

Ive just pulled apart my heater box to see if its leaking. I noticed some brown stain on the underfelt inside my ute, around where the heater pipes go through. Im not sure if this is from when I removed the heater pipes and water ran back through the cab, or if the core has a leak. Is there anyway I can test the core to see if it has a leak or not? Cheers.

Hey polson...that metal arm one in your picture, can I replace my plastic one with that? Because I just bought one...but I dont know what way to connect the vacuum lines.
-
ill see how it goes, theres a fair bit of pressure coming out of that diaphragm
-
polson you are spot on the arm itself didnt snap, just where it mounts to the flap...i'm hoping superglue can fix it...
-
oh no dont tell me that!
-
Yeah good point bear. Turns out im gonna need a whole new heater box anyway, I noticed one of the linkages to the vent flap is broken. Bugger.

ok no worries. doors are already stripped so im halfway there

Wheres the best place to get door seals and ute quarter window seals? I tried rare spares and they reckon they dont do em anymore.. Also how do I replace the door seals? It appears I have to peel the old seal off the trim beading, any special glue I have to use to stick the new rubber on? Cheers! Paul

another quick question: when removing and installing bailey channel, does the window have to be out?
-
I went shopping and got black door seals, tailgate seal, bailey channel rubbers, and wiper arm gromets. So that should keep me busy.

Every time i read old ads about spac falcons, the options say they come with spac style wheels...but whats the difference between spac rims and stockies? They look the same to me...
-
Beauty thanks nos I'll give them a call
-
Ah bugger cheers for that info cav. Steve I didnt even know what a pinchweld was called, let alone that you could actually get them with the rubber attatched!
-
If I can find rubber with brown trim then I will replace the whole thing. Cheers nos2 I'll suss em out!

I also tried clark rubber, they dont have the same profile
