so clean polson!

I recently put Rare Spares seals on just a few weeks ago, fit like a charm. I just used a bit of supa glue to join it under the door. Looks pro!
-
say you have an aftermarket air filter, would a bigger diameter one make much difference over a smaller diameter one? assuming they are the same height
-
Do you have Rare Spares or Clark Rubber in NZ?

Im probably being OCD again... but id like to see how other utes spare wheel doors close. I used to have a towbar but i had that removed, and with the door shut there is now about a 2 inch gap between the top of the door and the body. I used to have a heavy duty towbar before the respray, so it was like a big black strip right across the back, so i'd never seen what it was supposed to look like under there. I'm guessing the hole in the middle is for a standard gooseneck towbar. Is this how they normally sit? With that big gap across the top? Mr Polson im looking in your direction hahaha. Cheers!

I am actually going to do that now, no shit hahaha. keep em coming polson!

Excellent! Cheers for checking that Polson! Im trying to get the ute back to showroom condition, thats why I get a bit OCD sometimes hahaha
-
I knew youd come through with the goods Polson!
-
You might be right polson, might just be the angle you look at them. Ill still try and hunt up some originals, like you all say they shine better, and they have Ford written on the glass. Cant go wrong!
-
cool thanks everyone for that!

http://www.ozfalcon.com.au/index.php?/topic/2032-xb-log-motor-rebuild-tips/ here we go! i knew id seen someone use pre crossflow and log motor in the same instance
-
hmmm... maybe im confused with the precrossys. i'll try find an example. why do they call that manifold a log manifold? when i googled it i noticed a lot of cars run log manifolds, not just fords. i thought maybe log stands for something? or perhaps its as simple as it looks like a log, lets call it a log? hahaha

Ive seen croosflows with rocker covers on them that have a breather, always thought they looked pretty cool. But before I do that I need to figure out what the hoses do and if I currently have them in the right spot. Years ago I changed the carby over to a holley with a 9inch air cleaner, I remember I had to reroute the hoses, but I cant remember why I did it or even if it's right. Anyway, the pcv valve in the oil cap goes around to a spot at the base of the carby, and also tees off on that line to the charcoal cannister with a valve/solenoid in it. The other one at the back of the rocker cover is just hanging loose. I never connected it to anything. Car runs fine but I just never ever bothered to check if id done this right... Also, if I wanted to put one of those breathers on, where do I put it, and where do the hoses go then? And what exactly does the charcoal cannister do? What happens if I dont have one? I swear ive seen motors without a pcv, or its going to a completely different place then the charcoal cannister... Cheers!
-
this has been very informative, thanks for all that cav. how does the solenoid work on T'eed hose of the pcv system? the one that runs down to the charcoal cannister? it has wires going off into the loom, is it somehow electronically controlled to allow vacuum into the cannister?
-
Why do people put those breathers on the rocker covers? What do they replace?
-
I want to put the falcon, gls, and ford badges back on my tailgate, but how do you know exactly where they go? Is there a book of measurements somewhere? haha. Id like to get them back in their original places, and its pretty rare to see a ute that hasnt been debadged, so i havnt really got anything to go off..

Absolute legend polson, cheers for that!! Xtreme karts...you reckon you could be bothered scanning that page up?
-
Yeah that looks right polson. Maybe ill try and figure out some sort of scale off this photo haha

I was just daydreaming on the internet and discovered this. http://www.lowbugget.com/2_barrel_and_4_barrel_carbs.html What do you guys reckon? I know sweet bugger all about turbos, let alone carby turbos. But all those bold letters and exclamation marks got me excited.
-
oh suck through?? yuck. i missed that key fact.
-
wouldnt the power valve have to be reversed? normal one opens under vacuum...so would a turbo one open under boost? ive said it before, i know jack shit about turbos haha
-
ooohhhh thats a bit relieving. yeah the adjustable jet seems like a great idea. and the boost powervalve they talk about would work great for street applications, hopefully it wouldnt drink so much when at normal driving speeds...
-
although upon second view their name is Low Bugget...low budget? low quality? haha
