Thanks Revhead. You think it's the plastic primer at fault? The 1k plastic primer is compatible with the 2k basecoats and clears? I did see a few 2k plastic primers available, would i be best off going 2k with everything?
-
Cunuva job! Here's a pic of the other mirror, this one hasn't been ass snapped! Nice black shiny 2k, this is the result i'm after.

The thing with acrylic/enamel mixing is an old but simple rule, enamel will go over acrylic but acrylic with not go over enamel. Enamel will go over just about anything, sticks like shit to a blanket. I really need to spray this in 1k or 2k, it has a certain slight orange peel finish that i want to replicate. I doubt i'll ever get the shine to match all the other painted plastics if i go acrylic. I'm trying to upload a pic of the other mirror to give an idea of what finish i'm after. I really need to know what they use in the automotive industry when painting the same plastic as the XD mirrors. There are many different types of plastics and all need to be done in a different way. I'm thinking a 2k plastic primer, 2k basecoat black and 2k clear. Is there a 2k clear just for plastics that i need to be using, the mirrors obviously don't need a flexing agent. It just seems to react as soon as i put the 2k clear on.

The new exhaust section looks ok, i can't work out why they've reduced it to 3" instead of just going 3.5" straight onto it like you want to do, strange. Gonna sound pretty crazy though i reckon!!

They came up good, you've done well! Although looking at that neighbourhood they'll get stolen now! lol.
-
Yes, yes it will.

Oh, i think adrianphu123's right, when i read it i thought it said 'i' shape not 'L' shape bracket, threw me off a bit. lol.

Got a pic mate, i can't picture it.
-
Looks really good! Nice shine!
-
Slots look good both ways i reckon!

That look great, huge improvement! Well done! I clean my pads in hot water with dishwashing liquid.

Ahh, that's actually the one i meant sorry, i got the 3 stage kit from Supercheap, great little kit) i get the JOSCO pads from Bunnings. The polish bars in the Supercheap kit can be bought in much larger bars from JOSCO (the black, red and white) if you run out.

James likes shiny stuff, who knew?
-
Look to be coming up really good mate, well done! When i done mine i used my finger in a rag to carefully put the paint-stripper on near the edges. Glad the stripper worked for you. The JOSCO buff pads from Bunnings are great for buffing wheels, try to find the three stage polishing kit, it has 3 different wheels and 3 polishes, black, red and white.
-
Most of the shit on them is clearcoat isn't it? It is if it's the same as EB Fairmont wheels. I done a set a few years back, paint stripper removes the clearcoat perfectly, polishing them up after that was easy, i never went through the process you have and they came up awesome!

That looks tougher than a motherfkr!
-
God damn they look nice!

Nothing really stopping you from putting in more matting on the back of the outer skin, very easy to strengthen it to your own satisfaction, make it an inch thick if you desire. Fibreglass is pretty fkn strong once you build it up that thick, you could almost sit a Clevo on it i reckon, your 100kgs wouldn't worry it at all one would think.

I love 16" TOYO tyres for use on Falcons, excellent all round tyres, incredible in the wet. Smoke well too. Everytime i killed one (always right hand rear for some reason) i'd do a rotation and go to the next one until all 4 were dead, i paid for them so i will use them. (i actually got them all for free off commodore cop cars, chewed out on the inside but the rest perfect)

Onya Thom. Sounds good CHESTNUTXE. Crisp and responsive. Actually gave me that itch to get mine in!! Hopefully Hendrixhc watches this and finally starts his bloody XE!! Hehe.

You can't copy and paste the URL?
-
Upload it to youtube then post the URL directly onto here. Fuck photobucket for vids. Single 3" with hooker will sound tough, driving it to the exhaust joint straight out the extractors nice and early in the morning is one of the best drives you'll ever have too!! lol.

Awesome!! Need a vid of it, need to hear that crack! Love the sound of a Clevo!

A bit better than the carby'd Barra i saw in a speedway car a couple of days ago, the dizzy was hanging out the front of the head with a shitload of silicon around it!! lol.
