Ok so Id thought Id start a thread for those of us who are panno mad. What does your van have? My XF has barns and my XD has tailgates. Im trying to figure out a way to have a handle on the inside of the upper tailgate so it makes it easier for camping. Anyone got any ideas? share the things you have done or want to do! Keep on vannin!

Ok so as most of you know, I have an XD van with a 302 and a clapped out body. I have thought about putting it into my XF panno, just wondering what is it that I need to do so that an engineer can sign off on it easily? One thing I know about is re-location of the heater box.

Hay y'all, Ok so as some of you would know by now-I am new to the major vehicle restoration thingy. I am looking to do as much as I can myself, this includes body repairs, preparation, maybe even paint-(thats a while off yet though). The first thing is: I have a large amount of rust in the XD van Im considering doing up, I may see what I can obtain in the way of rust replacement sections and donor bodies to cut out what I need. I may have to hand fab as well. My questions (so far) are these: What size steel do I use? Are switchable Arc/TIG inverter welders suitable?\ Are these units any good? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SPOT-WELDER-GUN-12-ELECTRODES-by-KelArc-UK-FREE-POST-/200829902406?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D7179504701338063511%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D200829902406%26#ht_2602wt_1111 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CAR-BODY-STITCH-WELDER-KelArcWeld-thn-metal-Free-Post-/190753699594?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D7179504701338063511%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D2%26sd%3D200829902406%26#ht_2966wt_1111 Found em on EvilBay.......reasonable price, but just not sure.

Body repairs-rust replacement advice sought!!!!

Hmmmm ok, kool as. Interested Glenn?? -
Sly, totally agree with the cleaning, no point trying to seal a filthy/oily surface-its a false economy. Also agree with the sealant, from memory I used Permatex, I could be wrong on the type.

1st!! Seeking advice and ideas on a car audio instal xf
The Kelvinator replied to Sardaara's topic in Interior and Car Audio
Cool as, Ive learnt by doing, and having mates help along the way. The biggest job I have done to date is on my white panno-New speakers, (6x9's and 5n3/4 rounds with splits), 4 channel amp, and 4 inch rounds up front. Had to pull head unit out, run power wires, remote wire, and completly recable the back for speakers, cross overs etc. If you know someone thats good-that always helps. -
Its getting to the point that retrofitting LPG isnt really that great an idea. Getting LPG fitted to a new car might make more economic sense. Horses for courses though.

Always uesed the cork ones, never an issue at all!

Rear shocks for XF, best for bumps.
The Kelvinator replied to mcfly94's topic in Steering, Suspension and Brakes
Sad about your local Pedders, I had a great experience in both Albury & Warrnambool. If I dont run Pedders then my money would be either on Monroe or Bilstein. -
Ive never had a problem with Pedders myself.
-
Kool! I have to do that for my Vans!!!!
-
How did it go in the end?

Sounds sweet as! Just watch the firewall, they tend to crack out because of the clutch being heavy and the pedal box effectively wants to pull the outer skin thru. My XF Panno has a t5 (factory) and the firewall has cracked once.
