Thanks for all the input guys, very helpful, can anyone tell me the difference between factory 302 2v and 351 closed chamber 2v's Iv got a mate that has a good set of 351 2v closed chamber heads with the 4v valves fitted with a slight amount of work how do these flow and perform. ? Thanks guys

Well it should be the same then when I turn on key it oviously gives power to the six coil so ill just make it longer, is the gear box wiring going to be the same ? And only other thing im confused on is what gearbox crossmember do I use for the c4 can I use the xd member and drill a hole to suit the xf pattern? Or do I need a different one.

hey guys iv got a hold of a xd fairmont ghia rusty as, with a 351 auto as complete car running going to convert everything into my xf ghia is there anything ill need to know apart from gearbox cross-member aligning up and the heater hoses im going to silver solder a elbo onto hearter box to clear so wont be a prob and other worrys i need to know ??

Mm that does look sexy I can't lie I might come around soon enough providing it is as low to the bonnet to be affective as can be I can pay that.

I do like very much on the list it is, you would at least gain 5% more power from it surely well I will in tassie our air is pretty cold as it is 9mmonths of the year Yeah it sucks with the bonnet there close with the stock gear! So I reckon a shacker will be the go but my opinion xd e f look a little funny with things out the bonnet, nothing like xc ← there sexy, just opinion.

sounds good fellas afd 2v's and manifold sounds good don't reckon will go much better then that due to the pocket but i reckon i will go with the shacker option it would have been nice to keep it under the bonnet but will lose power im guessing.

Yes i too agree with you gerg on all that well said mate ^^^ like i said a lawn mower goes harder when they fark up due to that contact being cooked,, i havent yet had a afm go to do this to move the arm but i have seen it happen similar over and over again,

Hey man i would say its the airflow meter as Gaz has said will barly run if unpluged or playing up and most times back fire through the manifold, 9 times out of then it will run worse under load as you say, going up hill for example because the afm wants to be fully open if its cooked the computer cant function witch = your lawn mower has more power!! if you are unsure of the air flow meter its the alloy unit on top of the factory airbox its a shutter type set up, should be able to get one from wreckers for 10-15 bucks.. well this shows my experience with clevos lol im a crossflow man i would know if the heads are off of course but on with the manifolds i cant it says its a 302c - 4v on the emissions tag in the bay thats was just my assumption that they were 4v but like i said im a crossflow man this is all new to me. but buy the sounds of things ill go the alloys. thanks for the recommendations man will take a look into the afds then if there a good but cheaper option, i dont wanna end up spending money not needed if the hp is allready there, ill still be checking the heads that everything is right and port matching so will make good power, any recommendations on a inlet manifold that will still make my 500+ mark and shut the bonnet with out cutting it on the top side ?

Thank guy I like sound of the chi208"s, now I was planning running solid roller. Or go hyd roller? Also I just found out that the heads on the 302 are 4v does this change anything to specs and flow or still go the alloys?

No worrys mate just make sure you put new timing set on, and i would recommended dialing it in to bro using a good run in paste and some penrite oil but you probs know all this to, i think the camtech was about 480 posted to tas with anti pump up lifters but your closer and wont need pump ups so id say about 400 would set you back,

hey Jason i ran i camtech ct142 - 520a/110 lobe sep, 540 lift. ( custom grind ) was a sweet cam ran on almost stock bottom end had a nice lope at idle and made 143 kw at wheels good pull from about 1800- 5800rpm but you probs wont spin yours that hard i did. will make good power till about 4500rpm on the stock top end after that you will brake something, will post vid to give you idea of sound this is very similar grind cam but not the camtech.

yeah agree with the rego thats the biggest prob for all of us, putting in my moderfication application now with everything from the xd standard so hopefully approved.

Yeah i completely agree with all that mate iv seen similar things happen also, each car is a different sound to how the pipe is bent, like another example with my hz ute for instance i converted a complete vr v6 t5 and exhaust from the vr doesn't sound anything like a commodore what so ever so im rapped
