    comp ratio to suit camshaft

    I ran a custom camtech 520a-110 545in-ex cant think of rest of specs loved it had great power up top between 1800-5800 YT roller rockers ran fine with 10:1 on 95+ slightly worked ports only done self made good difference 153rwkw on good tune, running 465 holley..
  2. Like the boys have said mate for how hard it is to take the dash out it might be still ok but the longer left the bigger job in the future, some times its hard to fine I just chuck a bit of food coloring in with water and tip in there easyer to see where its seeping

    Hey Fella's now im after the guru that can tell me how to wire my Clevo dissy and coil of the wiring from my efi 6 (xf), I have the coil ones word out I think there the same? But the plug from Clevo dissy where do I wire these ? Any help would be good thanks men!. Jake.

    fairmont ghia help please!

    Well guys I noticed something tonight that I have never come across I noticed wile locking the ghia to go inside the as I turned the key lock in the door my park lights lit up slightly and once I turned back they went off, Now I know that there lights around the locks these all work but whats the go with my headlights is this normal or do I have a problem Cheers guys

    Thanks Rev and Rob, Thats got me all sorted managed to get the loome all split and everything not needed gone, Next and hopefully final question. The wires for the gear box the c4 has a different plug 4 wires, and the bw40 has 4,do I just match up the colors from each loome or witch way does it go, speedo plugs same as we all know but yeah stuck again,

    Ok Rob so in saying that one of the wires in the original 6 plug the clips onto the efi dissy, I should be able to slit the loome back and only tap that one wire into the dissy wires, from memory will chack later but my dissy has 3 wires, only need to tho im presumimg negative to coil and ignition Edit - well I have 2 wires and looking at it now all I need to do is simply put the to coil wires from the 6 straight onto the coil the plugs from the dissy are already on there anyway, If someone could confirm it would be great! One thing I hate is cooked wires from being on the wrong way..

    Got any pics of a setup like that? Just the manifold could hide the converter behind a nice alloy or stainless shroud with some condue on all the pipeing would look pretty neat.

    Yeah mine is post 86 there is no issue with transport of the engine going in as I have all my application approved I can put 460 in if I like long as it is run purely and soley on lpg witch kind is gay I cant even leave my fuel tank in aparently but thats up to my engineer ill just hook up the gas and leave tank in place see weather he says anything..

    Trouble is guys my xf is 86 gotta run gas to pass rego bloke from transport told me I gotta remove tank and lines to but engineer dont think so, will find out shortly hopefully dont need to remove to put back in lol

    No. 6 wont run lean ol sav as its getting its fuel from the injector will run too rich if anything due to the air not getting back there but being the boost pressure if running/ just na there will be enough air volume in the plenum to fill cylinder. Hope I can help. Cheers jake.

    351c and c4 in 86 xf

    Hey guy just want to know what gearbox crossmember to use to bolt my c4 in my xf I noticed the xd one iss alot wider then xf one and how well they line up haven't measured hole gap so unsure do I need an adapter for the original 6 auto and just make brakets up ? Any help would be good thanks guys

    Yeah sorry man I feel dog, wish I new, if i see a set in my travels will pick them up for you if there good, Yeah my alloy head plans have changed slightly decided to do the work to cast one as I have access to a mate in launceston that does port work on the side for a small amount will have a good set of heads for the power im chasing, if I can maybe in two years or so might get alloys when finances get better from health being down, but atm just going to go good street engine for now,

    Good stuff chris my opinion is only from what I gathered you have said your using im the past, got my 351oc heads with 4v valves tonight, slightly work will be good set of heads, For you thats all you need for a nice set up with 95 octane juice, just chuck a bottle of octane boster behind the seat if you can get premium,

    Yeah seems as if I got screwed up with holden heads, there 64cc my bad.. , but the formula is still much the same I don't think Chris is intending in running alloy heads so comp is to high really alloys wouldn't be a issue but in terms of a slap on ok performance thing without doing valve cuts etc the 351 2v open chamber would be best option as 4v would be over kill for his application and give no down low.. My only opinions is going on what I gathered from what chris has said regarding his set up..

    Hey Chris, I to am using this same combo the issues you will have as I didn't presumably you only want a mild street cruise engine, is compression ratio using 302 64cc close chamber heads will be way to high even if you dont deck the block and run dish pistons ( the biggest available) there is not enough crown to spin the piston down due to the high pin hight your cr would be about 12.9 to much for pump and cruise, I now have a set of 351 2v open chamber heads with 4v valves fitted, running it decked with slightly dished piston say 8cc gives me around 10.9 excellent for mild cam and 98 juice So all in all its probs best to do a little research on the 302 head but thats just my seeing. I have a mate that spent a reasonable amount of money on a set of 302 heads for his 351 and it went pretty well, he put a stock set of 351 2v on it with v4 valves went off its head.

    clevo into xf wiring help

    Hey guys just after some help in the wiring from the efi ghia to the clevo with c4 im not sure in what meed to be connected up to make it run, i know to make the temp wire longer and the oli pressure from the six to the eight, but the wires on my efi coil ar the right to just plum into my coil on the clevo and it should run id expect? And with the tacho do I need to re calibrate the 6 on or can you get a in wire changer or something? Cheers guys any help would be sweet.

    hey guys as some of you know im in the process of building a mild 393 stroker clevo just woundering what kind of flow figures are 302c 2v closed chamber heads stock and what kind of flow would i be needing? and is it achivable from the good ol cast heads with little work? cheers guys hopefully things will be good.

    Thanks for that gerg thats what I needed to know very interesting, sounds as if there a pretty stock thing then the one he has have had slight port work and a valve cut I think, well seens as there open chamber thats what 74cc factory or something? That solved my compression problem, presumably those heads 51 crank 02 rods 8 cc pistons with block decked should give me around 10.7cr ?? Okay for 98 pump..
