    Wet distrirbutor cap?

Went and had a tinker today and discovered that one of the spark plug wires looks like it's been cut by something. Would that have been the cause? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    Broken Bolt Extraction

G'day guys, Deankdx suggested I make a thread about how to remove broken bolts, and since I had to do it again today I figured I'd take some photos as I went. Todays patient is my brother's 1990 Telstar. He overtightened one of the rocker cover bolts and snapped the head off. Luckily it's a long bolt so there was quite a bit of meat hanging out of the head. This is probably the easiest bolt extraction to do since there's plenty of room to get a pair of pliers in. Couple of turns and out she comes. Next time I'll show how I got the snapped rocker stud in my Falcon out with a Dremel. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    XF Crossflow Idle issue

Fiddled around with the choke and idle speed screw and that seems to have done the trick. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    XF Crossflow Idle issue

Hey guys, Been trying to get my ute to idle, but so far I've had no luck. I've put a carb kit through it, and it seems to run a lot stronger. But when the engine is at low speed it stumbles and dies. Any ideas? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    XF Crossflow Idle issue

I've had the choke disconnected and held open and it'll stay running, but idles way too high. It's tight, but you can get at the idle mixture screw. The newer Weber has a plug. I've turned the idle mixture screw all the way to the right then backed it off two turns like it said in the workshop manual. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    XF Crossflow Idle issue

Thanks guys, I blew out all the passages before I put it on as the carb had been sitting under the house for a few years. Played around with the idle control solenoid and all seems good. The inlet manifold gasket is new, and seems to not be leaking... Could it have something to do with the Electric choke? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  7. Typical Ford, haha. I'll have another look tomorrow, but I can only see one set of mounting holes. Mines a February '93 car so maybe they'd finally commited to E-series mounts by then. Thanks fellas. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

    XF 4.1 Idles Too Fast?

Hey guys, got an issue with the carb 4.1 in my ute. Changed belts and fluids and went to get everything up to temperature so I did a few laps of his back paddock. At some point it threw the alternator belt and got a bit warm so I let it sit for a few hours after I changed the belt. Ever since then it starts and immediately goes up to 2000rpm. Tried adjusting the idle screw, doesn't do anything. Any idea what it could be? The throttle cable is brand new and isn't stretched. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk
  10. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone is running King KFFL-0 front coils and has photos or measurements of the ride height. I have a pair left over from my Mums old XF wagon that I'd like to use.
