    Roll cage

Well you'd never believe my luck, I was cruising around on the ozfalcon facebook page and Jake posted a picture of my old half 'cage' for sale!! He's in Perth and that makes things a little more difficult but he's sorting it out and I'll have it back soon! FUCK YEAH!!! That cage has been from Adelaide to Melbourne to Canberra to WaggaWagga to Perth and now back to Melbourne, go you good thing! If anyone in Perth can help out with organising shipping do please PM me, I'm not sure Jake thought he'd be organising interstate shipping (at my expense of course) for the item when he posted it, but he's being a good sport

    Roll cage

I used to have a sort of half cage in my XE, struggling to find pictures but it was a hoop behind the driver seat with plates where it meets the floor and runners to the rear shelf and plates on the ends also bolted through the shelf. It was all looks, but its a good look, and was never meant to be functional. It was bolted in the car when I bought it and I sold it off a few years later so now I'm looking for someone to knock one up for me again. Does anyone have a cage guy that would slum it for a more looks than functional gig? Know what it might cost? I was looking through ebay for something that was close and this is a very piss poor example but its basically the same thing but much lighter gauge material

    Single rail jammed !

If you suspect it's the linages hit it with a can of lubricant, toploader did the same a few years back and thought it was toast until someone gave me the tip that they heat up them old boxes and dry themselfs out, ** don't read into that too much, no double meaning there haha **

    Cleveland 120A Chome Alternators

I had a similar one, and my experiance was not good, but it may not have been the exact same model so did not want to taint your decision.
  6. Anyone got some good pictures of XD/E's on bags? Or any tips for collecting a kit? I'd like to sit it on its sill when parked.

Oh so your the bloke that scored Charlies kit. Yeah I've been torn on the idea for a while, I don't want to drive around at any different height that it is right now, just when its parked I'd like to slam it. What was the lowest that you could get yours when parked with no air?

    Tyres front to back

Hi guys, I'm looking to pick up some Convo Pros and rubber to suit in the near future, I've just about done my nut thinking about sizes and below is where my head is at right now, or it was until I saw a photo of that combo (read on) * For the front 15 x 6 with 205/60 tyres * For the rear 15 x 9 with 275/60 tyres Judge has a set for sale at the moment that is spot on (http://www.xfalcon.com/forums/index.php?/topic/40309-ford-pre-au-convo-pros-with-275-mickey-thompson-street-slicks/) but the rears look so much larger than the fronts, distractingly so. I know the backs are Mickeys so they will look a little different. My calculations say that the diameter should only about 8.4cm different between the front and back, but it looks so much larger than that, it might well be only 8cm but it appears more. What do you think about mixing and matching profiles to try to get them to look the same? a 275/50 would only be 2.9cm difference, under half the original difference from the 275/60. It sounds like a good idea but I feel like I'm breaking some sort of unspoken rule of selecting rubber. Thoughts?

    Roll cage

PM the their details, they might be able to sell me on the idea of doing it "properly" or they might have someone in mind, cheers.

    Roll cage

Im not interested in the functionality of it, really not interested at all, and I'm not kidding myself that it'll save me in any event err... well anything! Its just an aesthetic thing, wish I could find photos from back in the day to explain it, that one above isn't really doing the idea justice.. grrr That aside, know anyone that could bend some fat tube? and do a tidy bit of welding?

    Bump stop spring cover thing

I've never removed the plates to swap my springs, I tired but the bolts were jammed so I just made do, have to compress the more than you would otherwise have to but it's nothing special.

    Airbagged falcon

All good mate. Back on topic I have emailed a bunch of suppliers a few months back and never got a peep so I shot another email to the guys at Air Ride, will see how we go.

    Airbagged falcon

Plates in the bay say '82 XE Falcon. I've owned the car for 10+ years now so whatever it is it doesn't bother me. I've run the numbers through the online databases and it says nothing too out of the ordinary so don't think its a reshell, but what evs. The only hint that something might be odd is (other than leaf rear) that I purchased what I believed to be an XE front lip and it's about 2inches too long for the front spoiler so it had me wondering for a while now. I thought XE's and XD's had the same front dimensions.. thoughts?

From reading what mcfly linked there you need to install a 4link or notch the rails to get it sitting on the sills. But sit it on it's sills I will **shakes fist at the sky** Mine is an XE but its got disc brake leaf, go figure, not entirely sure on the history of the car before I got it, I think it's a "bits-a".

    Electrical issues, low voltage

It's a carb and running an ICE ignition.
  21. Hey guys, I've been struggling with low voltage issues for a while now, the alternator is brand new and seems to be doing the right thing but if I'm at a set of lights with the thermos on, indicator on and the foot on the brake then it's only a matter of time until it turns off. It starts straight back up so I don't believe it to be a battery problem (and its a new boat battery to, big sucker). Not sure if its that same problem but over 100km/h it sometimes stumbles and seems to suffer the same issue, it'll cut out but will fire straight back up, WTF? I know people say "hmm thermos, theres your problem, go with a clutch fan" aside from the fact that when the blower goes on that wont fly, I have an old magna that has thermos, I can run at night with EVERYTHING on and it doesn't miss a beat, so something is wrong here, where to start? Or is this one of those drive it to an auto elec and just pay to get it sorted moments?

    wheel backspacing

Judge put up a pic so we can see what the combo looked like when it was on. I'm thinking 8.5 or 10 myself but I want bags and it resting on the sills when parked, 10's may not work.

    P/s conversion

Yep it's an interference fit, tap tap tappy. I tried for a while to get it to move without removing it but had to in the end. Alarm wiring aside it was pretty easy.
