    5.0 Coyote into X Series.

Remember the 5.4 boss motor is/was an Australian creation where as the coyote/ Miami ( still not 100% sure of their differences, if anyone knows plz tell me) are out of the states therefore give it a little while and guys will be bringing them over by the container load.

    5.0 Coyote into X Series.

There is a PDF at the bottom of the link with engine dimensions. No matter what v8 I think once you put good flowing pipes on it it will be tight thanks to the towers. I'm sure we all have very fond memories of trying to get the back drivers side exhaust bolts in on a Cleveland with extractors! Lol!

Here, http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=13113 They call the wiring harness a controls pack, thrash it all day and it has warranty!!! Not bad hp for the price.

    5.0 Coyote into X Series.

I had a chat rrs at the Sydney all ford day and asked this question as I'm looking at doing this in the future and they said their system will support a coyote engine, I'm not sure if he was legit or just trying to do a sales pitch on me. Ford racing in the states sells full plug n play wiring harnesses, adapters for a/c, power steer pumps and even mounting kits for older mustangs to do these exact conversions.

    Dynamat extreme

How much does a box weigh? Not that mine is a race car, just curious.

    Dynamat extreme

Thinking about putting dynamat down on the floor of my ute to cut down road noise also we have a Toyota echo that you can hardly hear the passenger yelling at you on the highway. Has anyone used this? Did it cut down road noise? Also just wondering how thick it is? The reason I ask is should I put under felt on top of it?

    Dynamat extreme

A box of resomat covers 34sq metres @ $178 and a box of dynamat extreme covers 36sq metres @ $189. Both say they cover the floor of an "average" car.

That's for all your info guys! The resomat definitely sounds good and I'll be taking the advice and putting underfelt in too.

    In - car OBD2 ECU scanner/monitor

Look for anything from the Autel brand. I have an Autel 519 and use it at least 3 times a day on different cars. The newer the car the better it works, fault codes and live data is good. I bought it off eBay. I didn't want to spend too much as fuckwits like to break into our vans and knock off our tools. Mine set me back the massive amount of $119 with free shipping.

    te s pack no.247 build

Subscribed! Love these cortinas! I was looking through all my old photos of the TE and TF cortinas I had, there are a few I wish I still had! What colour are you going to paint it? Good score on the seat material!
  12. Sounds like it could be the knock sensor retarding spark and fuel. Theses sensors are at the age where they are developing cracks and sometimes going bananas at idle. They have a piezo crystal in them that produces a voltage when knocked around, the voltage goes back to the ecu yadda yadda.... Use a multimeter to check for voltage output after visual inspection for cracks. If all good look at TPS in particular poor connection.

    Dash re skin

Hi all, I need to get a new crash pad/ dash for my XF. I'm getting sick of yellow foam everywhere!! Does anyone know of a place that can re skin a dash to look like original? I haven't tried rare spares yet as I wasn't looking at taking out a mortgage to pay for it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated fellas.

Air bags - the steering wheel kind

I'd believe it. Some bmws go off going over speed humps, a mate used to work at ford and had to call an ambulance for the apprentice as the airbag went off in a new territory as he was driving it into the workshop for the pre delivery inspection. Poor kid almost had his head torn off. Just check the resistance values of the ba airbags compared to the el one. BAs have a well known fault with fairmonts and ghias that the wiring harness running up the the airbag in the front seats is about 2inches too short (friggin tight arses). When someone puts the seat all the way back or forward it tugs on the harness plug causing a poor connection and high resistance therefore logging a fault and turning the system off. Some guys have tired extending the harness but a lot of them have sent off the airbags by doing this. He could get the vehicle re engineered, About ten years ago we had a spate of Hondas being broken into in sydney and the only things stolen were the steering wheels and passenger airbags. I have fond memories of driving Hondas with shifters for steering wheels. Honda wanted 7k for each airbag so thieves would pinch them and sell them to panel shops. I went to another fella who had his front seats knocked out of his pajero because they had airbags and get this.. Mitsubishi wanted 17k for two front seats!! All the ones that were able to get re engineered had the airbags as an option from factory, it's worth a try though, you'll have to change things like seat belts to a different tension too, they all worn in unison. Good luck.

    Bw35-40 differences

No, pulling parts off it. I needed to know things like the kick down were interchangeable

    Bw35-40 differences

Well I've finished getting the kick down cable out of this BW40 anyone want it? Free-Last I knew it shifted fine, oil was pretty clean

    Bw35-40 differences

Nah, just tore the 40 apart and was sussing out the 35 and their differences, both lines are on the passenger side.

    Bw35-40 differences

Cool thanks Mr Polson!! Ratios don't matter, it's slow anyway!!

    I need ECU education

The ecu tend to retard timing as the engine warms up. From memory XR6 have a higher release pressure on their fuel pressure therefore bumping up the rail pressure. Oxygen sensor is only a minor trimming device of fuel delivery the difference isn't really worth the effort. Best go is the coolant temp sensor, you will have to do something about the oxygen sensor though, it will unsuccessfully try to lean out the mixture causing it to log a fault code. Could you plug in an oxygen sensor that isn't screwed into the exhaust?

    One Hell of A Doosie!

This sort of weird shit starts happening with bad earth connections. Did you stuff around with any earths? Some modules have their own earth direct to the body via a small bolt.

    One Hell of A Doosie!

Yep sounds like a short. Strange what you say about the radio though. When people put an after market stezza in they some time mistake the illumination power wire for an earth, sounds strange I know but it is common! Just recheck it is still earth with lights on and off or better still up your own power and earth wires. Other than that your smart lock bypass module could be causing it. It hooks into the door light switches, interior light and stereo.

Weird headlight/indicator issue - XF FalconGL

Check your earth connections, just as important as positive connections and usually overlooked.
