Okay flow rockers are basically clevo type but in two stud sizes.

5/16 pedestal mount - no machining

7/16 stud mount - needs machining

The 5/16 this run the risk of pulling out at high rpm - but this is dependent on your cam size and valve spring pressure.  This is something ando gets very passionate about.  I’m surprised the mention of double springs hasn’t woken him up.

the 7/16ths are more common and easy to get but need the pedestal machines to take the stud mount.  They tend to be more stable but n high rpm scenarios, and then if you’re really serious in running a big cam you need pushrods and guide plates.  But this is a serious engine something that sacrifices some crossy strengths ( low down torque) and drive ability for those moments when you can hold a throttle fat and go waaa waaa waaa.

i have a set of the 5/16 adjustables in my xf.  It’s efi, they do not fit under the efi cover without an aussiespeed spacer.  It’s also not standard efi - eb inlet el ecu with quarter horse.

i could have gone v8 had less hassles but I kinda like how friendly the crossy is.  It’s not a fast combo but it’s a great streeter with a Bit of attitude which I’ve learnt a lot from.

Other guys like rob and ando will have their own bit to add to this but hopefully this helps in the interim

Thanks for the info..do you find it HELPS your engine in any way?

Possible: Yes (Cleveland style bolt-on rockers)
    Performance: no
    Economy: no

Stock rockers are fine for stock or mild engines, just use a good quality zinc oil or a moly additive to prevent wear in the pivot over a long period.

Roller rockers are mechanical insurance for a modified valvetrain ie: bigger cam, stiffer valve springs, higher rpm. With the greater forces involved with all of these aspects, the roller pivot and tip reduce friction and wear. The oil stays cleaner due to reduced shearing/breakdown.

If you ever do go down that path, don't skimp on the quality. Lots of tiny hardened needle rollers floating around your engine is what we call a "Chernobyl" in the trade.

Got the CAM, and the DOUBLE VALVE SPRINGS, so it shouldnt be a problem..

  3. After having a new dash installed in my XF, I found i only had PARK LIGHTS no HORN, and the Indicators worked some time. Went  to the AUTO ELEC and he told me I needed a new/another indicator/ wiper assembly.. Fitted and works great now....$30 for the part, $ 95 to fit...

  4. The reason i am asking, is that, i had double valve springs on, I had the rockers all changed and the MECHANIC, took them off and replaced with NEW single ones, He said " you will never bounce these"..However I found that by the time i got to 1/2 way on the accelerator pedal, the car/ENGINE just ran out of breath, AND i know there is heaps more it could do...

  5. Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, But, how do you guys and gals, protect your car from the Elements, without a CARPORT or GARAGE. Just been to CLARK RUBBER, BUNNINGS , nothing, SUPERCHEAP had something but for $250.00 bucks, it looks too flimsy and would blow away...any suggestions ??..Is there a place that actually caters for this sort of thing?

    THANK YOU..................

  7. I put another $25.00 in 98 ron in the old girl and took her for another run, the missing seems to be gone, and the idling is at about 900 rpm. So maybe it needs a good long run for the COMPUTER to LEARN..tell you what, I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE OTHER 2 FORDS since I got this back..lol..By the way guys, I need to CLEAN my headlights...heard about tooth paste and 1200 sand paper..or is there a better way of doing this??

  8. Ok, went and had a look at the accelerator STOP, near the throttle body and there is a ADJUSTMENT SCREW there, wound that back a bit, opened the AIR screw on the throttle body and its at around the 1000 rpm mark, went and put 25 dollars in of 98 ron...took it for a 15 min drive and it seems ok...however when I " GET UP IT"...there is a definite miss, so something is still not right...However ITS A LOT BETTER....

  9. Thanks for that bit of info CRAZY 2287, For all I know, the KNOCK SENSOR was never hooked up. I only saw 1 SCREW on the throttle body, did not know there were 2.I will have another look. These after market COMPUTER,S...Whom sells them and are they up here in QUEENSLAND/BRISBANE?

  10. Neither the MECHANIC or the AUTO ELECTRICIAN, know where the WIRES from the KNOCK SENSOR goes...ANYONE KNOW or and have a photo..IT ,might solve a lot of problems here...OR is there a section here I can refer too...cheers..
