    stripped water pump thread

I have the recoil kits at work, no UNC stuff though, I could get you a 8 x 1.25 threaded insert for nought, from memory the hole size needed is 9.5 or something like that, text me your address if you want one and i'll post one out, easy as piss to put in. 0488723901 IMO heli coils are shit and best not used, once youve used these youll think the same. Got our kit from Begonia city tools.

    Oil cooler opinions

Grab one from VPW or Rocket, plenty of sizes, unless you're running higher RPM or towing all the time you shouldn't need one thats very big.

    stripped water pump thread

Yeah forget the helis, you can get these recoil thingys that you screw in and it ends up being the same size thread anyway and it's a steel thread. Good shit.

    351 over heating

What BigCav said, that little ring below the thermostat is usually the first thing that gets the flick, but makes a big difference in cooling. If you haven't got one get one!

I used Magna blue tops that i got from Ant at his wrecking yard, had em cleaned and they went straight into the rail, no mods required. Currently running 230rwkw no probs. Sorry just read it's for the earlier crossies no the e series. My oops

    Dual battery system ideas

Gerg's system would be the most cost effective and would work really well for what youre doing.

Just guessing, I reckon around 350 neddies at the crank. Still fun though. Interested to know the actual output.

Ask Ants, surely hes got some simmons kicking around! !6's can look good on an XD-F providing they are the "right" rims with good offset. Don't know what the "right" rims are though sorry dude! lol

Has anybody here had any experience with zinc or nickel plating kits that you can do at home? What results etc has anyone had with them and does anyone have any recommendations?

A ghosted ford emblem would look cool, either that or FPR racing logo? Something like that would be cool.

XC Fairmont 4.1 crossflow Cheap power upgrade ??

If you go an electronic ignition (recommended) take a spare set of modules and a spare coil for sure. Like Mr Mntlxd said the borrom ends are very reliable, but if it's done more than 250k I'd be re ringing and re bearing. Thats just me.

    XB Log motor rebuild tips

Pics when I dig it out of the back of the shed! It's an auto, going to leave it that way for the moment, it's only a cruiser. Hmmm I was going to leave the log so that it looked original at least, but still not sure about a crossy either. Decisions decisions.

    XB Log motor rebuild tips

Sorry boys, going to stay with the ol log! I reckon that next to a clevo, they have to be one of the most reliable engines ever built. I don't mind the idea of milling the inlet off altogether and making my own. Definitely has merit. This car is going to be a super clean family cruiser, by the way has anyone got a good RR quarter? When i said it's clean, it is really aside from a bad quarter graft a decade or two ago! Lol.
