  1. The main advantage of going thru the exhaust is it creates a vacumm even if it's low and help seal the engine up and it free's up HP.

You can get Y pieces for use on air fittings that may look better and more like it's meant to be there than a T piece would but your idea would work fine.A breather on top would suffice or even if it went to a fitting on the base of the air cleaner so it's totally recirculating.

Im gonna just run a breather i think , would a check valve and linking it to the exhaust work at all? Heads---> catch can --- > check valve at top --- > zorst?

  2. I have seen and heard of guys using a mechanical fuel pump as a vacuum source to to catch can that works well.

Rocker cover/s to catch can thru baffles, vacuum line from incoming side of fuel pump to top opposite of catch can thru baffles, exiting side of fuel pump to exhaust collector like a vac u pan system. That should remove every thing and all while using the engine to run it to create a better seal on the rings, better gasket seal and better performing engine all round.

Gunna set this up on the ute as it is free hp...may only be 1-3hp or can be as high as 20 on some big vacuum units so worth a shot I think.

Sounds like it would work, although i dont have the eccentric drive-thing on the cam anymore as the motor is straight lpg lol :(

I think i will run 1 catch can, 1 hose from each rocker, with one hose going to the other rocker, then a t peice , then to the can, with a breather on top, tap on the bottom and some small tube running down onto the 'ground'

do i need to have fully welded/sealed fittings on the rockers or will gromets/decent seal work?

  3. HI guys id thought id share my experiance when converting My 250 PRE CROSSFLOW cortina to Electronic Dizzy

I havnt completed this little project yet

    I dont have leads

there are a few things im not sure on

    1) Do i need a different Ign Coil ?

    2) What are a good brand of leads i can buy? I am thinking of getting a msd streetfire kit, with the leads you shorten yourself

    3) AFAIK there is a resistor wire that goes into the Points dizzy to take it down to 7-9v? I am going to Use that to trigger a Relay, and Run a new wire , that way if i needed to i could swap back to the points dizzy if i break down ect  Is this true?

Ill post pics up later on

  4. I use Penrite HPR GAS in my Clevo, no issues. Not a race engine, though. Just for work duties and a bit of weekend fun. Used it since rebuild 30k ago.

Synthetic will be fine, just dont mix and match. If you use synthetic, stay with it. (works with LPG, Diesel, commercial vehicles)

i think ill go with hpr or hpr gas , more than likely the thinner of those oils , it has 60w penrite in it and the guage reads 72 psi at idle lol

Is there anything wrong with the cheaper-named-brand oils out there? shell/valvoline/nulon/ect? i will be dailying this car in the future and 8.5L of oil every oil change tends to make things very expensive

do they lack the extra zinc or ?

  5. PENRITE HPR 15-60 FULL SYNTHETIC....Caters for a wide range of engines whether multi valve or pushrod and good in both high and low km engines.

How old were the pushrods you were using? You should use heavy duty ones just incase you momentarily have a loss of spark.

they were new but they wernt hardened ..  <1000kms and they were fkd to the point i could hear them tapping on the guides

i wasnt originally going to go roller rockers but the guy who convinced me to do it sold me the rockers, but not the correct pushrods to go with it ffs

  6. I have Just finished up with the run in oil in my clevo and im wondering what weight and brand oil to use?

i want to use penrite HPR but the HPR range seems way way to thick?

It has HPR GAS 60w in it now.. but the pressure seems way to high 70+ ?

The car runs on straight lpg

I put the thick oil in there because the pushrods were not hardened, which caused them to wear and clog the oil filter, causing oil pressure to drop, causing me to buy the thickest oil i could find lol

I would like a 10w30 but penrite seem to only make 40-50-60-70w oils in the HPR range?

  7. I want to put a catch can on my 351 as it will be boosted later on and i dont really want to run a pcv into the intake anyways, i dont like the idea of oil being in the intake lol

Who here runs a catchcan on a v8? do i run 2 lines one from each rocker cover into the top of the catch can?

do i need to run a breather?

does it have to be plumbed back into the sump?

I am not 100% sure whether i really need a catch can at all?
