I have a donor for my TD , it has a tacho dash and everything, but its a TC and obviously the dash is different Just wondering if it all bolts in? my TD atm doesnt have a tacho dash so sorta keen to do it !

How much did you end up getting the kit for ? I need to get one soon ( i cant actually find out if the cortina/single rail clutch kit is the same as a crossflow, but i cant find any part numbers for a corty/250 combo)

How long do you plan on having the car ? you could always drop a later model motor in , and when/if you want to sell it ect you can swap it back? I know that. an OHC / 5 speed setup would be leaps and bounds better to drive an a prexflow

I drive around in a TD with a loggy, as a daily. POS IMO . Engine isnt really tired. done a few ks . but it really doesnt like unleaded fuel, i have fitted an electronic dizzy. which made a good difference. I have tuned it so that it idles properly and runs well, untill i sit in traffic for a bit or drive it around on a 25+ degree day , it just pings on WOT even though i run 98 or i can pull timing so it wont idle properly , but doesnt ping. I am gearing up to put an OHC motor in it .. 100x better imo.. can run on 91, and has about double the power, from standard

Actually might sus out and see if my mod motor/tr6060 bellhousing fits the Au or the eb OHC motors i have laying around.. might get lucky and it fits one of them lol

Cool thread man! Ive always though that guages that cost 200,300,400$ were horseshit lol. IMO if your oil pressure reads a few psi off because the guage isnt accurate, it doesnt really matter, it will still tell you if it drops to low, like to 5psi or something . might not actually be 5, could be 1-10. but at least you know you need to shutdown the car lol

its a tr6060, i have a bellhousing to suit a clevo , is why i was annoyed to find the 4.0 doesnt share the same pattern

I would just buy a generic 4 pin plug and wire it in . ones +12 ones neg, the other two i dunno?? I usually just trial and error stuff like that as finding the right loom isnt worth the trip to the wreckers time wise lol

So basically OHV xp-xf Are the same, and the same as SBF? OHC Ea-El are the same pretty much 100% OHC/DOHC Au-BF Are the same OHC/DOHC Ea to BF are the same except those alloy gusset things that they use dont line up? What about 250xflow to Ea OHC?

How do i tell which block i have? im pretty sure i have a later 250 prexflow. judging from the amount of welch plugs? Pretty sure it isnt going to work though? Mark can i borrow your flywheel i just realised i have another block sitting at home! to confirm Engine is NOT a crossflow

Ok So The conversion is done, HUGE DIFFERENCE. 1 Being that it idles better, and starts better, doesnt really need the choke at all now ! 2 Being the power/doesnt ping at all under WOT Cant really tell though how much quicker the car is because the damn clutch is slipping lol

HI guys id thought id share my experiance when converting My 250 PRE CROSSFLOW cortina to Electronic Dizzy I havnt completed this little project yet I dont have leads there are a few things im not sure on 1) Do i need a different Ign Coil ? 2) What are a good brand of leads i can buy? I am thinking of getting a msd streetfire kit, with the leads you shorten yourself 3) AFAIK there is a resistor wire that goes into the Points dizzy to take it down to 7-9v? I am going to Use that to trigger a Relay, and Run a new wire , that way if i needed to i could swap back to the points dizzy if i break down ect Is this true? Ill post pics up later on

Installed the Electronic Dizzy Today! The main concern i had was The resistorwire that runs the original dizzy. Fucking hooked it up to trigger a relay so the new dizzy got 12v turned the car off the resistor wire still read 5v? :S had to Hook up a wire from the back of the ignition barrel straight to the Dizzy/Coil for 12v. works a treat now! unfortunaltly the clutch is slipping .. a few weeks ago it started gradually not wanting to go into gears.. clutch wasnt releasing. i adjusted the clutch last weekend, clutch slipped under heavy load/full throttle. adjusted it again and it wouldnt get gears so adjusted it/took it for a drive like 3 times and got it to the point that it releases when your foots on the clutch but it still slips Anyone know if the ea falcon flywheel goes into a pre crossie? 99% sure they will but need the holes drilled out ?

As you can see in the pic i have a procrap dizzy i bought it cheap to get the car running . but its to big and shits me because it is procomp and i hate them Where can i buy a repro bosch elec dizzy? Ive seen them on ebay but are they any good? I want to run an MSD digital electronic programmable box on it later.. Not sure if that means i need a different dizzy? Cheers! A few goodies came in the mail today , heres one of them Where do i mount the sensor? Top hose is pressure.. isnt it ? or. My block is grout filled so i sorta want to know whats going on all of the time.. I am running an au rad/themos so knowing that they are working / how well they are working would be good The more i think about it , should i just run 2 guages , one top hose one bottom? Would there be an advantage of using the factory sensor mount instead of the top hose , or the other way around?
