Shit thats alot to fill. Do you run it on 98? The ZL cost about 100 but that is at vic prices and for 91.

i have added to globes to my lights in the blank holes so i doubt it will ever work. My first fuel guage light can be good for up to 120km of high way driving. The second one goes quicker though and the rest are random. Gas is exactly the same 100 odd in the first light and only 250km from all the rest.

I would be doing exactly what revhead said. My first ZH had a clean plenum but had rust behind the guard. Let in a fair bit of water to.

i havent changed Gas source so il assume its not that. Although it could be dirty LPG or something to.

My AU falcon keeps losing power on LPG. I run Dual fuel and there is no issue on Petrol. It happens intermittently but it feel's like its been starved. It has a full tank. I cant find any vaccumm leaks. At first i could rev it up and it would be fine but its getting worse. Also recently serviced including Plugs, leads ,new coil pack, oil, filters and a gas tune up. Its a bog stock 6 with a shit gas system ezygas put in (ezygas=evil) any ideas? I havent looked at the converter yet.

i would love a bigger tank. When i do the DOHC conversion il go straight gas and have a second tank where the petrol tank goes. The AU still remains the same. I assume either the converter is freezing or its wax build up. Could there be wax build up in under 20,000kms though?

How big is the Panno's tank? I wouldnt get more than 400km out my 68l tank. The ZL is more like 350km from 52 litres. It has never taken more than 52L.

Thanks for the replies fellas. My coolant is good flushed it and filled it last week(after this problem started) i am unsure what the system is il go have a look. I had it tuned properly recently and for a month it was fine. I think it might be wax build up. Nova i didnt realise (or forgot) your panno was on Gas. Imagine how good it would be at Vic prices. Or at the price Australia sells it to china at!!!

haha yeah its a mother to fill. When the first light goes off (for the 11th time) on the fuel guage its a sad moment. Nothing llike knowing you have alllllll that fuel back there when its full.

yeah petrol was $1.35 like a day ago. Then bam 20c increase. Lucky i filled up the ZL early this week.

well the ZL does it but all my lights work and are present. As i said i just took out the globe. 80L tank is handy. What does the Fairmont Ghia sedan have? I wondered if my trip computer was from a monty with a smaller tank and thats why it beeped sometimes.

thanks chris. But in vic Gas is 55c a litre (was today anyway) and petrol is $1.54. Makes for a cheap daily. If i was in tassie i wouldnt have gas. Its crazy spensive down there. Infact the only gas car i saw was that weird FD with massive rear tyres.

Meh way over my head Chris. If it wasnt so cool i would just go get an XF clock. The DTE thing its crap anyway. I fill up and it says 680km and then at half a tank it says 12km. Ive got a good one now but jeez there annoying at times. The other features are fairly useless. I think its funny they dont go past 1999. Ford was Y2K concious i see lol

Yeah surely someone could recondition them? There is a guy at work who fixes all the monitors, B P machines, pumps and other equipment in the hospital. I think il ask if it would be hard to source the stuff. Mine after 12 reliable months lost 2 hours the other day. Very sad day.

this is very interesting. I was never sold on doing a windsor conversion this seems like something a bit more fun with alot of potential. My only isssue would be wiring i cant stand it.

what if someone wanted to go auto? Would the trans tunnel need to be modded?

Actually i would like a dipstick its my only real complaint about the AU.

I am in a similar position. I want to put a 4 litre in my ZL maybe next year. I personally was leaning toward an AU motor. I have an AU so i have experience with it and like the motor FWIW. I would then use the AU box to. I have no technical experience with this sort of conversion so i cant say how hard it will be. But AU's are plentifull, cheap and reliable. Also adds the option of the VCT motor not sure how much harder that would be though. Good thread mate.

if i was doing one of my Fairlanes i would probably consider the guard roller. But doing it on my Datto i didnt care as much. But really a $15 heat gun and a $5 rubber mallet did the job very well. Cause i was going anywhere without them rolled that was for sure!

Heat gun too mate. Just dont over heat it. Will stop the paint cracking.

My ZL is currently getting about 18l per 100 km on gas. The tune is shocking and the gas system is cheap. But it is also chewing through petrol at about 15 l per 100. Gas is only 55c near me but i hate how gutless it is.

good score mate. Ive got white walls on 3 of my cars they look great. The ZL has similar walls to Ants XD they look pretty damn good i reckon.

In the ZH the previous owner set the thermos up with auto, manual and off functions. I would just go auto myself.
