I put a au engine in my xf earlier this year .
I used rod shop engine mounts to suit a Barra conversion as there the same blocks nearly
And a sway bar from tuff mounts to suit a Barra to clear the au sump .
I used a stock v8 core radiator but spun it around 180 degrees and welded the fittings on the other side of the radiator
I run straight lpg , and a dizzy out of a xe falcon .. I'm upgrading the ignition now but it works pretty well at 7psi Or would be good for carby/lpg n/a engine
You will just need a xf t5 crossmember for t5 conversion and a manual pedal box

I think tunnel vision can supply one .. I have spoken to a few people who got there's from him. Best you have a ring around .

That's a fair tyre also ..
I wonder if I got some made 4.75 inch back space just to be safe ..
My cars pretty low .. and I don't want to shorten the diff if I'm having wheels made .
I might get some bands abs see how they look ..

I'm going to have some spac rims turned into 15x8s and run 255/50/15 drag radials on my xf ..
A lot of people suggest 4.5 inch back space for off the shelf rims
I've always found they hang out a bit to far and rub a bit ..
Just wonder what people thoughts are ? What offset would you run if you could run any ???
probably going to get a band sent over and measure it all up any way but thought ide see what you guys think also ...

Keep the lpg and pull the petrol out My au gets about 600ks a tank on the hwy . Cost about $50 to fill the tank ..
If you put some more timing in it and it will go well also .
Only problem is in country towns it's hard to get lpg ..
It's kinda a unfinished project , I just put the 225 there because it fits better ..

Im not sure tbh! I brought the cam kit about 6 or 7 years ago.
As for its performance while being boosted i dont know either. Ive heard they work well together but i guess its up to the tuner to make it all work in the end?
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Not really a tuner thing overly .. stock cam will be okay ... but maybe after you get it running / tuned then put the cam in and see how it affects the cars performance..
I just had a cam done for me , basically high end big boost custom grind is the only way
Mid boost there is probably some cams that will work pretty well off the shelf , it's just all playing around .

While your asking, anyone got any suggestions for head bolts to suit the sohc 4.0? I've been told to steer clear of Nason, the only other over the counter ones I've seen readily available are permaseal. I'd rather not go to head studs because they aren't really necessary in my case, a bit of overkill plus costly.
Suggestions?
Check out mace engineering .

Interesting idea on using xflow rods. Ive already got a jmm dev5 cam ect and au steel head gasket. Cheers

I have a mate who makes about 300kw in a daily xg .. using those rods . Much Cheeper than trying to fit arp to e series rods ..
What's the specs of a dev5 ??

If you have a el engine you should get some xflow rods and put some arp rod bolts in it ..
People will say the newer ohc are stronger, but it's really not true ..
I've always used acl pistons and stock cast rings ..
Use a multilayer steel head gasket .
And apart from that unless you plan on forge pistons and billet rods I wouldn't get to worry about any thing else .
Maybe a different cam would help .

That blue xe has sold me .. I think it just needs to be low ...

Is any one running or have had el gt wheels on a x series .
Can you help me decide on some wheel by supplying radical photos??

If you decide to off load any xflow turbo stuff let me no . I might be keen on the hot side stuff

If any ones interested in gas stuff still , here's some info for a good upgrade for the gas research . I'm going todo some testing on my n/a crossflow and see how they go .

Any one remember much about these ?? I remember a fella xw351 was playing with some ages ago on xfalcon .

Ive noticed that most of the exhaust outlet flanges for the turbo are 63mm ( 2.5") diameter. Is a 2.5 inch sytem suitable for a turbo engine or should you go a 3"?
With only one muffler it would be okay , bigger is better .

If your trying to sort turbos . May I suggest look for old bush bearing to4b or air research .
I have seen hundreds on gumtree , rebuilt then never used as there not the "in" thing .
It Will last you for years , will serve your purpose , and can be found for under $400 .
A friends el has a home made collector manifold , xr6t injectors , cheep eBay fuel reg , walbro 225 , eBay t04z , nock off turbo smart wastegate .
Manuel gear box , standard motor and a chipped standard computer .
It ran 10psi , tune was horrid , all up had spent under $2000 and it ran and drove great until the old boost bug set in.
I've found if you can do the fabrication you can build something fairly cheep that can be reliable .

Hi all .
Does any one no where , or from what car I can get a master cylinder to suit full disk brakes on a xy falcon ?
It's running eb callipers on the back and big pbr on the front , possibly commodore ones .

I have had them mounted both horizontal and vertical , I have never noticed a different in how they behave , but there meant to gum up a lot faster , I have never ran into this issue but I've never driven one like it for more than a year .

I had a walbro in my xr6t. Being in tank that would be ideal

I'm looking for ideas on fuel pumps for my xg , decided to ditch the LPG and go back to petrol , I'll have to re run the fuel lines as there rusted out and I need a new fuel pump . This motor was in a el with stock pump and adjustable fuel reg with magna injectors all maxed out and still running a little lean in higher rpm
I'm after ideas about fuel system setup as I don't no much about that stuff , I've been told xr6 injectors and adjustable fuel reg and a 044 pump would be good .
I've also been told that a 044 is to big . And as far as fuel lines I'm not really sure how big they should be made with a bigger pump .

May as well just put the whole xr6 motor in it and carby it.

Nice , that's what I had hoped i could do , I'll have to get a hump for the shifter I'll unpick one from a ea if I must.

I had planned on making a custom shifted that just goes staight up , and not layed back , so might give me another half inch gap between the seat in second.
-
Yeah thats fine with me if I can't move the seat forward . I only just fit now.

Pictures would be great

Thanks mate.

My ute is T5 manual with a late XF series bench seat. Fits, just, and I can still carry two passengers.
Do have have the hump welded on the floor for shifter clearance ? . Would you be able to take a photo for me .

The shifter is a bit more set back on a au box , but you can use one .
