So some of you might know by now the ute is getting painted soon. Well my painter would like to airbrush something (for free) on the tailgate. I have no idea on what to get, so any ideas out there?? The colour will be electric blue pearl with heavy metallic through it. Thanks
-
Yeah liking the Ford emblem idea!! Even if I get it on the wall in the tub behind the cab? Because it's flat because of the modified wall. Would look a little more low key
-
Do you know if the shape is roughly the same? Would look nice in some black vinyl or something, as you said.

Inspire yourself: Incredible metal-work skills.

Very skilled people indeed! Amazing work -
I agree with the above ^^ You could also get BA XR seats and get the tread pattern and the XR redone in Envy green. Would look good IMO

Okay, so I'm looking at the best option for a heart transplant for the xf. Now, I would like some advice on which way to go, the BA Barra or E series 4.0L? Barra's seem to be about as cheap as the SOHC, is it just as easy to fit? Is it harder? What's involved? If anyone could help, would be much appreciated! - Damo

I did, but my utes off the road mate. And in answer to the wagon diffs, as ENVYXF said, they have a lower load rating, but the leafs are softer giving a better ride.
-
I don't personally know what the ride is like. I know a guy who said it was still good, if not a bit better. I believe wagon springs ride nicer, so that could be an option for ya
-
I got my leaf springs reset 3" and it was $110 ($160 actually, but got discount) For the front you could go for some "low" or "superlow" front coils with shocks to suit. I would suggest getting new bushes.

Fuck you've done an awesome job so far. Making me jealous haha. Will be sik as when done. Are you just gonna make a floor out if some sheet metal?
-
The rear wall is cut out and modified in my ute, to act as a shelf, or sub house
-
Peggas by any chance? Zeerust rd races are were it's at up here!
-
That's fair enough mate. Will be interesting to see done

Why not go efi? More efficiency, looks better and would probably give out more power. Doesn't it defeat the purpose of going to all the effort of going 4.0L?
-
I was only looking at these just to paint the ute. Not going to need it forever type of thing..

Was looking on evil bay, working out some prices of guns to paint the ute and came across this. Do you guys think these would be any good? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/38-PCS-SPRAY-GUN-KIT-HVLP-GRAVITY-FEED-4-Guns-Air-gauge-1mm-1-4mm-1-5mm-1-8mm-/281128983262?pt=AU_Building_Materials&hash=item417497dade&_uhb=1

Sweet. I thought it was good, just needed a second opinion
-
I got mine reset 3 inch for $110. Go into a suspension/steering joint and they can do it.
-
Yepp, you need a new steering column. Not a overly hard task, more of a pain in the ass.
-
They look very similar actually. The BA one looks a bit longer?? Not sure if I'm right though
-
It all is starting to sound good. Thanks for all the info. The stand alone harnesses seem pretty good too.
-
I want to do it because it looks very nice in the xf bay, easy power and fuel efficient, and want to be a bit different from everyone with x series with e series engine
-
Sweet man. Thanks. jist trying to get all my info together before i rush into it and go "fuck"

I think for an auto, trans tunnel may be modded due to size. Don't quote me though. I'm all good with the mounting etc, won't be hard. Not running power steer, not sure about air-conditioning yet! my only issue is wiring. i have read almost every conversion thread, yet No one really mentions the wiring!!!! Fustrating Haha. Also, on another note, do you suggest painting the car, or get the engine stuff all read before painting?

Yeah mate straight gas. Ive heard that wolf 3d ecus are good too? What's the pro with running the au loom?
